No matter how many times I see this it always givesme goosebumps. It's my favourite Bathurst moment and I think it always will be. I doubt we'll ever see a pit lane standing ovation again for anyone. That KMart Commodore was a rocket. I think it would still be a competitive car now.

The record may be gone, but it was set in a car with manual clutch and H-pattern shifter, not paddles and sequential. And it still took seven years to beat.

I am sure this was a DOUBLE H pattern box which makes the feat even greater; a 4 speed box equates to a H pattern and 6 speed box equals 2 H's with the common centre leg of the H being the 3/4 shift... I stand corrected.
