The build quality is remarkable. And yes, the parts look a lot like Anbernic. The software still needs some optimization, I hope that will happen. Visually, I think the pink handheld looks great! I already have an R36S, but I'm tempted to buy this product right now, I hope the price drops a bit. If we're lucky, hopefully one day we'll see an improvement in the specs and possibly a 4 inch screen. 😎

Still prefer the r36h, the horizontal version of the r36s. The r36 line of handheld's appeal, to me at least, comes from it's price to performance ratio and the fact that you can remove the battery without having to take them apart. There's just a plastic back plate that doesn't even need a screw driver. All electronics could benefit from this design. One can dream I suppose.

My buget emulator has been the s20 plus, got one in back market for 170$ and so far it's done more than I have ever asked for. Nodded San Andreas with story 2.0, gangs expanded.. war craft 3, wow Ascension on winlator.. even got this mod for terraria going, calamity working for mobile somehow. And It let me play Skyward Sword for the first time! Xbox 360 seems to be the snapdragon 865s limit however, so if I want Red dead 1, or dead island 1 it seems I have to hop over to the steam deck. Got a Linux one running windows for 300$ and it covers the bases that the desktop does that I want on the go like Gta 4 modded. Albeit for FAR less time than the Samsung. That thing can run gta sa. Andreas for like 6 hrs

i collect Chinese handhelds for a living i do repairs on phones for a living and i play video games as a hobby , I'm not what you call an expert but i do have some knowledge about the topic , the r36s is cheap has cheap parts , ,but performs above its level , what makes it great is the software its smooth as butter and close to perfection with no glitches or flaws, they knew they were creating a masterpiece with a price tag of $20,99 tell me a device that cost that that ,can play all those game smooth as butter , has a great community to back it up , has constant updates to the O.S , ( of course setting you expectations accordingly for a device that cost 20 u.s dollars ) , i like the face buttons on this new device but the software is 💀 and the community is 🗑️ . like you said they are fixable : you can uninstall the operating software and install arkos it will perform 9999999x better

You could also install official Batocera and configure it (button mapping with hotkey) to your liking. Actually Batocera is a great OS with a nice community. But what is shown here in this video is a cheap ripp-off unofficial batocera clone/fork/altered version. That it is bad is not the fault of the batocera developers, but from those, whoever forked this.

It does! I think it's a pretty cool little console. Just a few quirks with the software. I'm wondering if you'd be able to figure out what's going on with N64 and Dreamcast. Also, it having almost a full RetroArch menu, but not being able to save overrides or configuration files is a bummer. If you have any ideas on how to fix it, or if you think you can get ArkOS working on it please let me know. No pressure. I know you're a busy guy.

​@@OGTechNick some of the RA menu options are hidden in some versions of retroarch. You have to go to appearance and enable them (display advance option). Some versions need that enabled to allow you to add video filters. Also, maybe the settings must be changed from the ES menu rather than from retroarch.

Wake up babe, another 3326 device just dropped 👀 I don't think cheap handhelds and good stock firmware will ever belong in the same sentence, at least not from these R36S clones. You will have to pay upwards of $200 before software becomes acceptable. It's often the unpaid open source community that has to do the legwork, which is a shame really. PS: I pressed the like button thrice, that's better than twice!
