Hey Stache! I have the exact same copy of Batman Year One that I just bought yesterday. I still have to get The Killing Joke. The Dark Knight Returns is probably my second favorite graphic novel out of all of them. My first favorite is The Killing Joke. I actually own issue #16 of Death of the Family. Great vid!

that's awesome, I recently got the hard cover edition of Batman Year One and I love it. The Killing Joke is an amazing story, it's one of my favorite, and who could ever forget The Dark Knight Returns, have you seen the animated film of The Dark Knight Returns? I loved it.

No I haven't yet. I have to check it out. My brother who is also a huge Batman fan told me to see that, Under the Red Hood, Year One, & Gotham Knight. I love the animated series so much. Wish I could find the boxset you showed in the dvd and blu rays.

TheCriticBoxReviews They have a lot of the animated series box sets on ebay but if you do go that route there's a ton of fakes I think that really sux because I remember I bought mine the day it came out and it was 100 back then and it seems like it hasn't lost it's value at all, i hope you find a copy

stache05 I'm actually just about ready to buy the complete Animated Series boxset. I heard somewhere that supposedly Warner Bros. is doing an animated version of The Killing Joke. I don't really think they will because of how gritty it is and how dark it is. If it is released, it's definitely going to be R-rated. I know if they did a PG-13 version of lot of the story elements would be edited out. I actually just picked up a Batman DC Archival Collection book which put 4 of the old Detective Comics into one large book. I got volume 3 because it was the only one I could find at 1 Up Collectibles.

Looks like you got the best of Batman, but i'd just like to say Death IN The Family is overrated. I know it's important for continuity but apart from Robins death theirs not really anything good about that story. compared to likes of Dark Knight Returns, Killing Joke, Knightfall, Long Halloween, Hush, Court of Owls, Death OF The Family. It's garbage

I actually agree with you, it's almost a throwaway story but where the story ended up was really bold. not much else to it but The Dark Knight Returns is brilliant and I absolutely love the Court of Owls

マシューセガファン94 I respectfully disagree. There's something about setting that story in the late 80's and in a darker and grittier Gotham that makes me feel like I'm reading a different version of "1984" but of course all art is subjective. :)
