Batman: Arkham Asylum NG- Speedrun

Run was further optimized by a recent find where u don't have to reload checkpoint while Joker says blah blah blah. Saves like 10ish seconds i think. Also not sure who found it but I give my thanks.

Since this video is sorta gaining traction I'm just gonna put this here so hopefully people won't comment it in the future. Yes, this is a modified save file that gives u most of the upgrades/gadgets. If u want an actual representation of how fast the game can be beaten normally U can find runs that have glitches within the game (zips, out of bounds shenanigans) or Glitchless runs if that's more your style with this link www.speedrun.com/arkhamasylum. it's actually faster to get to the cutscene if you let the titan hit you, than trying to dodge him or attack

Its a glitch If u fire batarang the exact frame you enter the game gets comfused and lets u use gadgets

You can't die on the first titan fight because the titan thug just skips to the cardiac arrest animation when Batman's health gets too low.

If the category doesn’t say glitchless or some variation of ‘Glitchless’ It has glitches And the any% name is replaced by the name of the name of the unique category (100%, NG+, Season of infamy, ext) Most times the only categories with any% in the title is when the category is (Main story, with glitches)

Well done, ... but, is this a mod or something? I have beaten this game, with all achievements in about 11 hours (the story in less than that time obviously) I don't remember a new game plus. Now... I'm not saying it isn't entertaining, but if mods, exploits and such are used/needed, it shouldn't be considered a speedrun. It's like taking shortcuts in an already set up track.. it's cheating. Think about it. I hope one day speedruns become something more defined, that don't require exploits or mods.

This run specifically uses a modded save file to give u all the gadgets/most of the upgrades at the start. It's honestly not a category anyone takes too seriously. If u want an actual representation of how fast the normal game can be played there are Any% runs that feature glitches within the game or actual glitchless runs which is exactly what it sounds like and sounds like what ur interested in.
