I think both Richard Epcar (MK vs DC Universe, Injustice: Gods Among Us) and Troy Baker (Arkham Origins) did admirable voices for the role of the Joker. Mark Hamill has done an excellent job for the Joker's voice but he has retired that role. Besides, having other voice actors may not be so bad once you get used to it.

Anyone else notice how when Strange interviews all the other inmates he is in control of the conversation and the situation until he speaks with the Joker and it all flips. The Joker dictates the tone, the direction and flow of the conversation like he is the one with all the power in the room. That's a nice touch to show the Joker was no normal lunatic killer and some thing much more worthy of fear.

Say what you want about strange , but you gotta admit he was an effective psychiatrist. He gotten more progress than any of the cters in arkham asylum could ever do. Arkham ayslum needed more doctors like him. What made Strange effective in treating dangerous patients like the ones in Batmans Rouges Gallery is because he wasn't afraid to use coercion. He made it clear to them that he was in control. That he wasnt afraid to kill or hurt them or someone they cared about if they threatened him. Tryng to take control. Compared to arkham ayslum docters. Who were all a bunch of fresh out of grad school novices who never dealt with the level of insanity that batman rouges had. In arkham asylum dialogue recordings, you can tell the doctors were scared or let the patient gain control, and the session didn't get anywhere. Because those people are used to threatening people and being in control. But strange was different he knows how to deal with people like that. Makes you wonder if bruce tried to at least talk to one of them, sonce, they all have a personal vendetta against him they wouldnt be who they are

Brilliant, brilliant voice acting. Some people's misconceptions about Mark Hamill's Joker is that he doesn't quite delve into the darker side of the character, leaning more towards his comedic side. But this is a beautiful representation of the perfect Joker, he's incredibly funny at times, and then with a flip of a switch he'll say something absolutely dark and maniacal. It makes it even colder that you can only depend on the actor's voices to paint a picture. Incredible writing and execution by Hamill, this team absolutely gets the character.

I kind of wonder what it would have been like if there had been a conversation between him and Scarecrow. Two geniuses in their respective fields going head to head unwilling to admit that they both lost it a long time ago. And for an added plot twist imagine if during the final interview Hugo mentions knowing Batman's true identity and Scarecrow just goes "who Bruce Wayne, all due respect professor I'm not trying to break Bruce Wayne I'm trying to break Batman". I stole that last bit from something I read on a tumblr post a couple of years ago.

The scariest part of this is the fact he was telling the truth specifically because he knew Strange had already been researching him for quite some time. Joker knew Strange wouldn't believe him after hearing 12 different origin stories, so he took advantage of that to REALLY tell someone how he became who he was, before he succumbs to his illness. Joker's intelligence is unparalleled. I also really like how Joker was truly offended by Strange saying it was his fault, until he understood he was referring to how he thinks he's lying, not how his wife's death or his own disfigurement is a result of his actions.

It would make both him and Terry responsible for their greatest foe, their arch nemesis, a opponent that was the opposite of everything they were.Batman is predictable, hes good, he will never kill and has a reason for anything he does. To me, the Joker's origin is of no importance. Whoever the Joker was died the moment he became the Joker. The man's mind is now chaos and evil incarnate, a curious mix of humor, cunning, randomness and murder. One of his few cohesive goals is to cause as much suffering, insanity and death as possible to prove that happiness and life are all a pointless façade - a joke if you will. Another goal is to test his wits against and defeat the only constant in his otherwise directionless life - Batman.

You really have no idea. I haven't played the games in years and yet I'm still finding out about secrets and Easter eggs in all the Batman Arkham series of games. Some are just cool little details, but others are dark and disturbing and most likely the only reason the games weren't given harder ratings was because no one had actually found them before sending it out.

I love how in all the other videos Hugo Strange has a clear upper hand on the other villains and he eventually wraps them around his finger in the end. But the Joker is the one turns the tables on him. Hugo want so desperately to study him that he actually gives into the Joker's demands and keeps sending him doctors knowing full well he's just going to kill them

I like how in every single interview with Hugo Strange, he is in charge, in control but with Joker he is the one in control because he doesn't care about anything and is the one holding the cards whilst Hugo Strange has got nothing. Joker knows that Hugo will keep sending doctors and will use that to tell fake stories
@TotalTech2.
@TotalTech2. Жыл бұрын
Everyone praises Mark Hamil for his performance as Joker, but Hugo's actor deserves just as much credit. Look at 9:35. Hugo is proud about destroying Sharp in the same way Joker is proud about killing the doctors. Hugo is just like the Joker, they are both complete sociopaths who enjoy hurting people. The only difference is the Joker uses a knife whereas Hugo uses words.. In fact in some ways he's even worse than the Joker because with the Joker you pretty much know what you are getting but with Hugo he seems so normal. Respectable even. It isn't until you really study him that you realize what a monster he truly is

I like how they put movie references throughout the WHOLE game. The church bell tower blowing up was from the 1989 Batman. Joker takes vicki vale up there and disenegrates the bolts of it and messes up the staircase. In the same movie batman stops This guy name jack that works at the axis chemicals (the name the movie gave it) He fell in the chemical turning into the Joker. I really love how they put a lot of references in the game.

Here's what I think happened. The Joker was always a psychopath, he just kept it very well hidden. Now I believe as a child he had an abusive father. And I believe he had a wife and she was having a child. After dealing with his past so long she kept asking and asking him about it. Finally he told her. After revealing it he felt a relief. Something he had never felt ever. He started to smile. He looked at his wife, she had her back turned. He opened the fridge and seen a bottle of whiskey. He took a drink and liked the way it felt. Suddenly he reached into the knife drawer. He pulled out a giant knife, the biggest one he could find. He walked up behind his wife and hugged her. He walked to the counter, grabbed his knife walked up behind her again but this time he slit her throat. He then buried the body. Batman hearing about the crime went to the scene found a body and traced the man back to the chemical plant. He found a man with a red hood and a cloak on. He asked why'd he do it

The man said he didn't know the fight started. Batman punched the man and he fell off the walkway. Suddenly he felt like he was drowning. He smiled he had felt at peace. He then fell asleep. Batman had drained the vat. People showed up. Batman had to vanish. They grabbed the man and took him to the hospital. He regained consciousness. He started laughing. The nurse walked up and said that his skin was white. He laughed some more. The nurse turned her back. He grabbed a scapel and slit her throat. He then left through the window. He returned to his home. The police tape was gone. He proceeded to his clothes basket. He found an odd suit and ended up loving it. He put it on. He looked in his mirror. He applied his wife's lipstick. He started laughing then wrote The Joker on the mirror.

The joker is, and always will be, the greatest enigma of all comic book characters. You can give a past to any fictional comic book character, even ones who have had theres held secret for years, but the joker, we're never know the truth, because its always going to be one big joke to him.
@mischievousone9999

What I took from Killing Joke was that whatever happened to the man that became the joker was so horrific that his own subconscious refused to acknowledge the memory of who he was. Either because the Joker couldn't stand what he had suffered, or because the person he was couldn't stand who he became. Joker doesn't want to know or acknowledge his own past, and I think the flash backs in Killing Joke were simply delusional daydreams inspired by objects or triggers in his environment. I think Batman's inclusions in his concocted origins are due to a perverse sense of kinship with the caped crusader. He doesn't want to be alone without that entity in the concept of his own existence. What makes the two such perfect enemies is their shared conviction. Batman's drive and focus to see life protected is equaled only by the Joker's determination to see lives ruined. Maybe Joker feels that their shared conviction comes from a shared sense of loss. I sometimes get the sense that the Joker is all five stages of the Kubler Ross grief cycle happening all at once, hence his erraticism.

One of the most interesting things that I love about these Interview Tapes and Arkham City Joker is he doesn't doesn't hide his true self to Strange and is absolutely open, (apart from his usually quirky self,) showing his vast intelligence and how well spoken he is. It's amazing to see the smart man underneath all the jokes and theatrics. Even when he was with Batman "It was all a lie. There's nothing wrong with you." "Nice of you to say but you of all people should know, there's plenty wrong with me." He truly is Batman's equal.

The thing to understand about this story is that it likely isn't his real origin, but parts of it might be, as the Joker himself puts it in the Killing Joke: Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a past, it might as well be multiple choice!
