This fight is so cool because it's literally not happening at all. Batman is hallucinating the sand clones and giant sand Ra's, when in reality it's just Ra's and Batman fighting with martial arts in the chamber while Talia watches.

There is one detail: The atmosphere. I'm not saying it didn't have an atmosphere, it had a great one, but certainly not as good as that of Arkham Asylum. That feel of loneliness, of despair, the claustrophobic darkness of an asylum. After all, it's Batman, a lone wolf fighting in a dark environment.

This is my favorite battle in the Arkham Series. Freeze is a close second, but this fight just feels so epic in so many ways; mostly because of the presentation, especially during the second half of the fight. The music. The way the screen flashes between the Ra's world and the real world anytime you perform a blade dodge or takedown. The background that mirrors the real Arkham City. It's just so beautiful.

Mmm... I think Freeze was better. The way you constantly had to adapt your strategy and him leaning from it is something so RARELY found in games. Although, my personal favorite is probably Deathstroke from Origins (screw you, Knight.) It just feels so awesome, especially on New Game+ with the counter icons turned off.

Freeze was amazing the first time, but on subsequent playthrough he's not as interesting because you already know all of his weaknesses. Ra's is also my favorite, especially where you do the "Neo" and throw ten guys off of you at once, or when you counter all the blade slices from Ra's and then proceed to a beatdown on him. This fight just never gets old.

@dark7element I think both boss fights exemplify what's so amazing about the game. The Mr. Freeze fight is a test of ingenuity and requires you to make use of every part of your arsenal. The R'as fight is focused entirely on your skill and reaction time in combat. Versatility and fighting prowess - THAT'S Batman.

Agreed the reason why I loved Mr. Freezes fight was because of the fright and panic that I was having while fighting him. The soundtrack, the setting, everything....it made feel...scary..... Also the fact that its unique. While fighting Ra's we have to use the Rec again and again and punch clones and punch clones so yeah...but still it was Awesome :)

Scarecrow didn't get eaten. There's an easter egg in Arkham City, a ship in the harbor full of canisters of fear gas and several tortured inmates, so obviously Scarecrow is there. He doesn't ever actually appear, but hopefully we'll get a DLC quest for him.

I don't know why so many people couldn't stop raving about the Mr. Freeze fight but don't mention this one. I personally felt the Ra's al Ghul fight was far and away the best boss fight in the game. It's epic, it's visually impressive, and it has all the little details that make A.C. great. I especially like when the hallucination momentarily fades to show Batman counter-attacking Ra's back in reality. Even when Batman is tripping balls and doesn't know what's real, he can STILL kick your ass.
