The reason why Batman Beyond had no story arcs is because of how television, especially animation, worked at that time. If you look at shows in the 90's and 2000's, or basically throughout the history of television up until pretty recently, serialized shows in general outside of soap operas were pretty rare because studios made a lot of money from syndication and the affiliates that bought syndication rights preferred shows that could be aired in any order. With animated shows, they were even worse since they were made primarily to sell toys. That's why they rarely lasted very long since they constantly wanted to create new shows so they can make new toys. Even now, animated serialized shows are far less common than episodic ones. And they dropped Blight after the first season because the network complained that the show was too dark. And they were kind of right. If you watch the first season, it was really dark. Also, King knew that Terry's Batman wasn't the original Batman but since the Royal Flush Gang is a hereditary organization, he assumed Batman worked the same way and that there were always new Batmen taking up the mantle just like how he took up the mantle from the old King.

Honestly he's getting into the point of meltdown. This review isn't even a good analysis, and he pointed out himself why a couple of times throughout the video. The side story has a chance to be interesting if he actually settles it down as a different thing on his channel, but in the eyes of someone who doesn't watch his content... It's pretty cringe-worthy. In the eyes of someone who wants to actually find the story, on the other hand, will be a bother to go through all of his videos just to follow the little side-plot.

Honestly, i'm with all of you on this one. This review honestly compared to his other ones is lackluster. In general i'm not a fan of the whole "stories in review" concept as 9/10 times it ends up being something I don't give a shit about.(So I end up skipping it or I end up getting confused wondering what happened.) I wish that reviewers like Watcher would just make separate videos about their story. That way if anybody cares about it they can watch the separate videos in order without getting confused. And also it can give him more time to develop it as I feel like this is one of his weaker aspects of his videos. And the "review" didn't feel much like a review. It felt more like he was rambling on about specific things about Batman Beyond rather than critiquing and analyzing said show. Since he built up this review as something he was eventually gonna do i'm disappointed with the review honestly.

My thoughts exactly on this video. The "review" was not much of a review and as somebody who's been watching his videos since he made them i'm really disappointed. Also, i'm not a fan of the whole "Stories in reviews" concept. I mean after all, not to dis reviewers who do this but why is it necessary I gotta ask? If you want to make a story it be better if you made the reviews and story plot lines separate videos. Even people like Cartoon Hero while I do like unfortunately do this. I gotta admit in his case I don't mind it too much but for people like Watcher it's confusing for me. It doesn't help that he doesn't make videos that often so even if I liked the storyline i'll get confused most likely. I feel like in general I can feel a sense that he just wants to work on his storyline which if so then fine. Though, I would appreciate it more if he at least recapped the stuff that happened before.(Or better, him making the storyline separate from the reviews.)

I know it's hard to make original characters and worlds and hear that people just don't like them but honestly these don't fit in your reviews *at all*. I can never remember half the adventures and backstories said in these because they're both infrequent and not relevant to the review itself, so it's all just *noise*. When other channels do this, they take themselves less seriously because good humor can excuse some of the shortcomings in these types of branching narratives outside the reviews. If you want to continue doing your side stories, I honestly suggest you do them in separate videos.

I honestly wanted to point out some other channels that do it better as constructive criticism but all examples I thought about that did it well were comedies (Jontron, Cinema Snob, etc.). Cuttleboss' do seem to demand their own separate video just because they are so...out of this world. Like I could see those cutscenes working if they were 'I was running through my old stuff the other day with my little cousin and saw a DVD of x series. Then my cousin asked if he could have it but I just had to say no...' and so on. Another thing we have to consider is that these stories *CAN* have an audience that may very well like the reviews just the way they are and don't want a single thing to be changed about them. The problem is, Watcher won't find that niche unless he uploads constantly...maybe with a few regular reviews in between for good measure. Not uploading once or twice a year. It's hard to find a niche audience who will be into your personal stuff unless you're consistent about it.

Even if they don´t fit the reviews, they´re there just to entertain and yet all I can see, just under this video, is hate. Though in the end I don´t care if he will be making the skits or not, I find this better then a simple boring review.

Patryk Rus I'm not against side story skits to accompany reviews...*when they make sense.* I feel a serious disconnect here, and usually the fix for this problem among others is to use *humor.* Not awkward melodrama. Like I've said before, if he wants to continue those stories, he should put them as separate videos that advertise the reviews. If they can't stand on their own, then *that's* the time to reflect on what needs improvement, writing-wise.

This is why I love the Bruce Tim DCAU, there was a ton of content and there was real heart and creativity put into the various DC series. I highly doubt any animated superheroverse will ever equal, let alone surpass the Bruce Tim one. I'm glad to have grown up watching the greatest tv animated superverse ever!

Favorite and most memorable episode is "April Moon". Such a great story and episode and very sad as well. It was also very dark because it was made clear, and Bruce knew it, that the doctor was going to kill the man forcing him to weaponize his body for him.

To all of the people who are hating on this video, especially complaining about the animation or the story arc: STOP. I am so sick of people hating on his videos. He works hard on each one of these, and the story arcs actually do have a plot and are good if you take the time to listen to them. But if you really don't like them, watch the review cut video and stop making stupid, degrading comments. As for animation complaints: Do you want to pay a million dollars right here, right now, to get some disney quality animation? No? Then PIPE THE FUCK DOWN. He makes this stuff for you, he probably isn't a multi millionaire, and all of the expenses probably come out of his own pocket. So seriously, STOP COMPLAINING. All I have seen are negative reviews. Is Terry taunting the Joker something Bruce never did? In the animated series he sort of taunted at Harley did he never in the comics decide to laugh at or with Joker (Minus the Killing Joke) in order to get Joker to drop his guard ever? He must have thought of that (Granted all the encounters I've seen are Batman being totally serious so Joker's humorous quips can come off even stronger as opposed to someone who was being sarcastic right back wouldn't cause Joker's back talk to be as strong)

What's up with all these comments? I know Batman Beyond is a fan-favorite but clearly this wasn't a real review an only done for the purposes of the storyline. The main character is obviously depressed, angry, drunk, and loathes himself for what he did. Take a chill pill everyone and I actually like the storyline being incorporated into the reviews. Have any of you not watched Atop The Fourth Wall? Linkara does the same thing and even tags the video when it's part of a storyline with a bit at the beginning and end of the review. Also shit this just took a turn for the dark! Now I need ot catch up on the story! CB, is there a playlist of the storyline I can binge?

...I think I finally get it. After 8 years of wondering, this video might be kind of a masterpiece. I'm ignorant to how much of the drunken review was scripted and acted and how much was improvised or real, but it comes off as effective. It starts off as incoherent rambling while still being a sufficient review, just more obnoxious than normal due to the lack of inhibitions. But then, 13 minutes in, we get to Epilogue, and the depressing music kicks in, and the commentary suddenly gets really heavy and real and the drunken outbursts give way to a more depressed tone, and pieces together some genuinely strong parallels between the series and the Watcher. And the clincher is that this is where the story of the Watcher ends, very anticlimactically while there are still plot threads hanging in the air, which is much like the phenomenon observed in the DCAU shows - they don't end with a proper series finale, but instead with an odd pseudo finale, because the series(es) was cancelled to focus on Justice League. So the creators, so the _Watcher_ could move on to other things. In that way, it's a little perfect.
