Onomatopoeia being a main villain in a Batman series. I am with it. I was so sad that we never got him in Live Action proper when Arrow still ran as he was a villain specifically created for Oliver Queen/Green Arrow by Kevin Smith. I think this is the first time we will have ever gotten him in any type of motion picture. His gimmick is to make the sounds of weapons he uses to kill his victims.

@@1000plo I just watched the compilation of her in that show. It was definitely cool but also not what I expect out of an actual proper rendition of the character. Onomatopoeia is a far more grounded character to me who is more like Hush and The Question. Not meant to be super powered or a meta human. Part of the menacing part of that character is the motivation is more personal than what they showed in Superman and Lois. Perhaps because that character is far better for other grounded characters like Batman and Green Arrow who the character was specifically created for as a primary antagonist.

From the lack of Bruce Wayne in this trailer, I'm going to guess it's yet again going to be ol' boring Batman who lost himself to the job completely, instead of BTAS' Batman who still has to live a double life and wants happiness for himself too. So I don't have much hope for this show to have any meaningful depth, but we'll see.

I think the idea of a cartoon series set during Batman's golden age is a really cool idea. I like how it's using that settings version of classic characters like Catwoman and Clayface, but also using it to reinterpret newer characters like Harley Quinn and Onomatopoeia. And on the subject of Onomatopoeia, as a Green Arrow fan, I'm both happy and frustrated that he has a villain so cool that he's been stolen by both Batman and Superman.

Onomatopoeia making another rare return. One of the only other times he's been in something other than a comic, the 1st being Superman and Lois but having actual powers. I always thought it interesting how people said, "His gimmick of saying sound effects out loud only works in comics, because it would be lame to just hear a normal guy go 'Blam,' with his voice in a live action or animated setting." And yet here we are. I think it could still be really badass and cold if he's just presented right. The theatrics are probably what will make him stand out and work as a unique villain.

@@calumhouston3308depends on what you mean. The animation is different for sure, but the gothic art deco fusion is the same. The tone is very similar. There are many elements that make this a sort of spiritual successor/relative to that series. I wouldn’t rain on someone’s parade if they compared the two. Bruce Timm being a driving force behind it is enough to even say that it’s certainly similar. At a certain point, you’re just being pedantic about the perception of others, which you cannot change.

0:10 and 1:30 is Golden Age Clayface. 1:28 is the one character I have no idea who they are. He does have a Silver Age Clayface vibe, but it feels too soon with the other one present. Probably one of many disfigured evil scientists instead.

Thanks for informing me. This honestly doesn't excite me as much as it seems to others. Just kind of feels like it's the same old thing. The 90s show already had a retro feel back then, and now it just feels like a slightly grittier rehash. But knowing Jar Jar Abrahams is involved that pretty much sealed the deal for me. Anything he touches is massacred.

If Bruce Timm is attached then this will be trash. Paul Dini ALWAYS was the brains behind every beloved BTAS episode in the whole show. This show also isnt canon cuz it shows characters who showed their origin story in BTAS differently

The design of this Batman is very faithful to his very first comic book appearance in Detective Comics in 1939. ✅ Bruce Timm of Batman: The Aminated Series fame is back with this series after earlier it was pitched to HBO Max. Plus, Matt Reeves, director behind 2022's The Batman is involved with this. ✅ Although Kevin Conroy is no longer with us, I hope the new voice actor does fine as Batman. 👍
