I think the reason 173 was successful in cornering 682 is because most of 682's abilities require him to be conscious to work. While 682 could heal from a broken neck, the reason he was probably scared was because he had been temporarily vulnerable. There would be little 682 could do to adapt to Saitama, bar just turning into some sort of indestructible rock...in which case, that's just not losing, not winning. Moreover, in the Awakened Garou fight, Saitama proves that he has an even more outlandish adaptability factor than 682. All in all, I think Saitama would be the only human 682 respects, because he is the embodiment of what 343 tried to convey to 682 as to why he loved humans: Their potential.

The simulated reality plan is the only one that might work. It wouldn't be hard to get him into one, just make it a large building that says "Grocery Sale" outside and he'll walk in without a fuss. Then just simulate the real world and keep him unaware of the fact that he's in a simulation. Give him money, food and a decent place to live with weak monsters to fight every so often and he may go his entire life never noticing that he's in a simulated environment. The problems that I can see happening is someone like Genos breaking in and telling Saitama about the simulation or Saitama accidently using so much strength that he breaks the simulator.

From what I've been told, the reason saitama is so strong isn't actually the workout itself, it is the fact that he was so absurdly ill prepared for it, that every night his heart would be stoping and restarting all night every night for 3 years straight... This constant cycle of going between being alive, and then the opposite of alive, then alive again, in such rapid succession for such a extended period of time, BROKE HIS LIMITER... Without that piece of of divine engineering holding him back like it does everyone else (because they still have there limiters) there simply isn't anything left to connect his body to its own limits anymore...

​@@Yokai_Yuri so I'd probably to add on to the original poster to let them know that Saitama isn't smart, its narratively shown on multiple occasions that hes a moron and an amateur when it comes to combat as Garou has stated that his fighting ability is terrible. It's just carried by his insurmountable strength. Onto the speed bit though. He does indeed have infinite speed and I'll explain why. So during the fight against God Garou in the manga, he was capable of punching so fast that he was able to shift causality so that he could strike in effectively negative seconds so that Garou couldn't dodge. Not to be mistaken with the time travel technique that Garou showed him how to do at the end of their fight. You are however, correct that Saitama DOES have a base strength and it only starts to increase when he's fighting an opponent that's stronger than him until he becomes too powerful and gets bored, which makes his power stop rising. Based on the attacks that Garou delivered which destroyed star systems in one kick, then I'd say the fairest estimate Saitama grew from that fight is likely galaxy level. Though his speed being able effect causality and in this instance, time, is what gives him that level of speed. It's not just a claim that comes from nowhere.

Garou at one point WAS more powerful than Saitama, but then he started to win, and then surpassed him. His potential IS limitless, but he has to be in a position where he wants it. The whole narrative of his story is that he's an adrenaline junkie who wants to have the greatest thrills of his life through combat and now he's too strong, which is why they hint at the idea as if he had found it, only to slam him back down to square one again.

Saitama would probably be cool with being sent to the Phantom Zone, because it would mean having a lot of strong opponents to fight. Once he finishes with them, he'd get bored and breakout, so it would only be a temporary solution. The best way to deal with him is to get him on your side and to do that, all you need is to give him money without a catch, and he'd be happy. Either that, or have him join the Justice League since he is a hero, and having that kind of strength on your side would be very beneficial. Nobody would ever be a threat to Earth again, and Batman could rest easily with somebody else there to deal with the majority of problems coming his way.
