Just picked it up last week. A bit surprised that the paper stock was different and also the actual hardcover is glossy when the first white knight deluxe was a matte surface. Oh well, both books still look great and I love this alternate universe. One of the few batman stories this past decade actually worth checking out. Looking forward to the third deluxe for beyond the white knight when it wraps up. Hopefully it won't take 2 years like this collection did...

I love this series! Mine came the other day, I gotta reread it soon. I do wish they kept the paper and binding consistent with the previous deluxe, but at least the dust jacket is that nice raised texture style.

I absolutely loved the first one. One of my favourite batman stories. Was quite disappointed with the curse sequel. But the harley quin side story, that comes next, was great!

Great review. I love this story so much. I'd love to get this (and the other Deluxe Edition HC) signed at NYCC, but it won't arrive in time. So, I'll have Mr. Murphy sign my tradebacks. Hopefully. Edit: I've picked up Mr. Murphy's older works (The Plot Holes and Punk Rock Jesus) and I can definitely say that his art has evolved and become better and better. His art is stunning and the colors, ::chef's kiss:: beautiful.

The matte paper is kinda weird, especially for an OHC. I'd expect that more from a SHC from DC, and it kinda bothers me that the paper and binding are different from each other. Still, I bought this one, lol.

I have the first deluxe as a present ( I found it very good especially the art, but not quite genre changing) and definitely want to pick it's sequel up in deluxe format. Honestly just seeing the book I'm already sold.😁

I bought this in single issue format, then bought the hardcover. Of course now I’m aware there will probably be an omni collecting all series. Don’t care. Buying that too. Worth it for this series, it’s incredible. The art on the Batmobile alone is worth the price.

Thanks for the overview! Just grabbed this for myself as I already have the first one in Deluxe Edition. Been holding off on getting the Harley Quinn volume because I'm hoping it gets the deluxe treatment as well. I'm not sure if they'll do that one though because it is rather short.

I’m not a big fan of Sean Murphy’s work but I sure appreciate the video so I can see inside the book! For a hardcore fan of the Batman universe, I get it that this would be exciting like Elseworlds stories were when I was a kid in the 90s

I love this book, i already own the hc edition. Tempted to get this cause i have the deluxe edition of the first part. In my case i actually prefered this to the white knight, most likely cause of my love for the knightfall series

I think the WK series looks better on the glossy paper, wonder if DC are moving to matte paper for all their HC’s (apart from their omnis)? Still nice to have this in OHC. Thanks Omar!

I've the standard hardcover edition. The spine looks much better, and the binding is the same. So it's enough for me.

Great video, Omar! I just finished the White Knight trade paperback. Curious on your thoughts of how this might be collected in the future. Do you see future editions including all of the series or others set in this universe? Or should we be grabbing up Deluxe Edition‘s as they come?

Man I believe in the far flung future these stories, plus the Harley story and the Beyond the White Knight will be collected in one Deluxe Omni though not for a couple years yet at the very least! Sucks because I did not have the patience and ended up buying both as TPBs, don't have the money or space or patience lol to wait for an Omni, will pick up the TPB of Beyond when it wraps up

The first one was amazing. One of my favourite batman stories I've ever read. Couldn't put it down. & this is coming from someone who hates scott snyders writing though. Couldn't stand his batman run. Only court of owl arc & the joker arc i absolutely loved. The rest were a chore for me to finish

Great art but a very poor story. SGM isnt a great writer in the first place and he just fundamentally doesnt understand some characters. Azrael was nothing more than a cool suit that Murphy stuck an original character into. Even the first White Knight was not very good but was elevated by cool art.
