I wish the Joker has kissed him. And no, it's not some shipping thing. The Joker often seems to get something sexual out of his interactions with Batman, and portrays their relationship as a twisted romance. It would be perfect punchline to save Batman and himself with a bloody kiss.

Eggs Benedict Cucumberbatch Its definitely just my opinion, but it is an opinion based on decades of the Joker using pet names, scenes in the Dark Knight Returns, Death of the Family, and many more comics and writers portrayal of the nature of Joker's obsession with Batman. Its not about shipping, I don't ship the Joker with anyone, as he is incapable of any kind of love that doesn't destroy the object of his affection/obsession. I am however interested in artists/writers exploring and expanding on the ways the ways his obsession with Batman manifests and how Batman reacts to them. The one way I can't see Batman reacting is through reciprocation.

TheCyberwoman yeah but joker is an old character and I don't think there are any sexual undertones behind it. If you watch old movies or read old books guys used to play with each other like this all the time when they were just being friendly and goofing of but when homosexuality became more prominent guys that weren't hitting on you wouldn't act like this so you know there is no sexual attraction but I don't think that matters to the joker since he acts like this to everybody. He sees batman and him as a comedy duo, bats is the straightman and he is the funny guy,he's just playing off of batman.

Eggs Benedict Cucumberbatch I would say that yes he's an old character, but also a continuously evolving character, I wouldn't use any examples from the golden or silver age of comics, but since at least the 80's when things got notably serious there have been several prominent artists that have put a decidedly sexual and/or quasi romantic spin in the Joker's obsession with Batman. I don't think your take on it is outright wrong, though I'd argue that no one jokes around the way Joker does. I also think Batman is less the straight man and more the audience, but that's a debate for a different time wit plenty of evidence to go either way. Read Scott Snyder's interview on Death of the Family at comicsalliance, he's pretty explicit that the Joker is in love with Batman. I'm not saying that's every writer's take, but its a theme that comes up often enough to be of note, and a interpretation that has been not only subtextual for certain writers but outright textual.

Yeah, they definitely made it seem like that was going on in the first few panels. Not to mention the fact that Batman would have preferred they both die, because of how much he hates the Joker and how Joker would want them both to live because he loves Batman (in whatever capacity he has for those kind of emotions). I'm not saying he loves Batman like someone would a spouse or lover or anything, but as someone he depends on, feeds on, and basically couldn't live without. If he kissed Batman, it would undoubtedly enrage him and maybe even make him feel humiliated and disgusted. Now ask yourself, how is this not in character for the Joker?

+Will Challoner You actually arent wrong. But its not something Im doing. We pace our videos with story arcs, when we launched the channel a lot of the arcs were 6-8 issues. Recently comic companies have shortened the arcs to 3-5 issues on a lot of them. That makes for a shorter video.
