Batman Returns is a beat-em-up developed by Konami and released for the Super Nintendo in 1993. As expected, the game takes us through Tim Burton’s 1992 film of the same name, even featuring digitized cut scenes from the movie.

The music is severely underrated or rarely mentioned. Its one of the best scores on the 16bit era and one of the best movie to game soundtracks ever

I remember having a friend who was super nuts about anything Batman when him and his brother rented this game they removed the label from the game and stuck it on the cartridge that came with the Super Scope. They sent back the game with the Batman label, but the game was Super Scope 6. It was the only time they did that. Wish I had bothered to learn that trick when Crono Trigger came out.

Was always blown away by how well this game captured the feel of the movie. Yeah it's got it's flaws but it really does feel like a companion piece to the film which by 1993 standards is pretty impressive.

So many childhood memories when I played this!! Easily one of the best Batman games made for the SNES; until the Arkham Series came out, and it easily blows this one out the water. But despite that, it's still a great game. Highly recommended.

Awesome review, Batman Returns is my favorite Beat em up on the SNES and I've beaten it a million times and It captures the movie perfectly well and It has the music of Danny Elfman's score amazing.

the Burton Batman movie games are Awesome and got Batman right for movie licence games.

yep, this was Konami doing 16-bit justice. I remember being pretty amazed at how big the characters were and how crisp the detail was (svhs cable). It was a Final Fight clone at its heart, but a really well executed one. Never beat it, sadly. Tortured myself with the Genesis version to no end. 90's angst.

Good review of this! I've played this for a few years and this definitely one of the greatest beat 'em ups on the SNES. It's also one of the 9 big Konami titles I have in my SNES collection. I beat this game on all 5 challenge modes.

I have to point out and comment also that the graphics and sound shown here look and sound superb. I never have played this on snes but I'd like too. I have it for the Atari Lynx and it looks similar, but just not as polished or good. Great review. .I enjoyed. :)

This is probably one of my favourite Konami games :) I also agree, that side-scroling sections were pretty unstable, but game itself is still very fun

+Magnifai W Konami was definitely on a roll in the 90's, perhaps that is why this one is so overlooked. This is easily one of my favorites on the SNES, such a wonderful game.

implantgames You should be able to beat each in 3 sessions if you play for 3-4 hrs each time.

I liked the game, but I always felt the combat wasn't THAT great and the side scrolling missions were a bit iffy. It's a good game no doubt, but I prefer Batman (1989) for the NES and Genesis.

This game is the perfect exemple that a beautiful game isn't necessary a good game...This game is just so repetitive that it becomes quickly annoying...
