Not being able to turn his neck actually gives batman more of a menacing presence. It's similar to Darth Vader, who you never imagine as being very athletic or nimble; he generally just walks forward slowly hurling aside oncomers.

I had a hell of a time with it as a kid myself. The side scrolling sections take a little getting used to, but they and the driving section are pretty good changes of pace and the main beatemup sections are fun. I developed a simple combo to dole out maximum damage, and I've tried applying that formula to any beatemup I would play thereafter.

When Andy Serkis was finally able to play Smegal in Return of the King, no one was bitching, he did so much work, it was epic to see him finally get to act...though it was corny, I respected it and many others did. So Mike and Ryan get to play games...I really hate seeing so much hate for the guys who worked behind the scenes enjoying a side project that doesn't belittle the normal AVGN episodes.

@HaveYouTriedGuillotines7 жыл бұрын
I dunno if Ryan or Mike will actually see this, but... If one were to make a real life batsuit that was able to actually protect the wearer while being flexible, it would likely use some kind of kevlar (or other body armor) mesh around the neck, as well as the hips and joints. Think of how medieval plate chainmail combination armor works, where hard plates protect the chest and other vital areas, but a metal mesh is used where the wearer needs to be flexible. Someone like Bruce would have access to the most cutting edge of body armor, so he could easily produce himself a good looking set of armor made out of flexible and protective materials.

Tim Burton's 2 Batman movies are the best by far. They're the perfect mix of cartoony and silly (which superheroes are by nature) and serious. All the other Batman movies are too over the top (Bat-credit card) or try way to hard to be serious (Nolan ones) which take me out of it because goofy shit is happening that's not serious. Tim Burton found a great balance.

The tone of the Tim Burton films was influenced by Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" and "Batman: Year One" (1986 and 1987 respectively) which basically completely changed the direction of Batman's portrayal in the comics.

Well by the time Batman Returns, and even Batman in 1989, the comics had already gotten past the Adam West era. I'll say since mid 1969. In cartoons it was a different story, but in the late 60's into the 70's, that's where comics started getting grittier again. I believe Ra's Al Ghul was introduced in 1970 or 71. This was around the time where a lot of Batman's villains stopped just being colorful villains. There's some good stuff from that time, and the art was awesome. You should check some of it out. Especially The Joker's Five Way Revenge.
