I've heard it remarked about that show that they went in with that intention. They even went as far as making a sound effect for the personality swap, which occurs when he removes the mask. Also, it's worth noting that in the Bruce Wayne persona, he's warmer even in the batcave, whereas when he's got the mask on he's cold and emotionless

They dumbed down everything about that Dracula special, since if someone went around any modern detective calling themselves Alucard and despising garlic, the sheer saturation of the vampire mythos into pop culture would make them instantly weary of whether the man was an obsessed cosplayer or an actual supernatural monster. Hell, depending on the detective, just the name alone could set off mental alarm bells and make them start quietly heading for the nearest cross.

My favorite one is in the Post-Crisis Era. Martha Kent has a scrap book with newspaper clippings about natural disasters that were averted. Then they turned in to stories about Superman. Lex Luthor got a hold of the scrap book not knowing it was Martha Kents. It got stolen from Lex Luthor by someone named Amanda (not Waller), who was murdered. Superman found the scrap book and asked Batman to look into it. See who had it before Amanda. Batman told Superman that no one with a criminal background owned that scrap book so he wasn't able to tell who owns it. But he deduced that Superman is Clark Kent. Superman also called Batman Mr. Wayne. Batman wondered how Superman knew since he always lined his cowl with lead.

Incorrect: In Superman TAS (which came out before Batman TAS), Bruce Wayne showed up in a guest role for an arc when some of Batman's rivals started teaming up with some of Superman's villains in order to pull off a larger scheme. Superman deduces Batman's identity first with his X-ray vision (because Batman hasn't added a lead lining to his cowl yet). However, Bruce returns the favor by deducing Supes' real identity, and showing up in Clark's locked apartment without any signs of forced entry. In short, Superman and Batman are both so powerful/intelligent respectively that whoever starts the race can usually deduce the other's identity before their target even knows they're being investigated, but due to them both being so capable, any advantage either may have from knowing their opposite's secret identity first is quickly rendered moot when their own identity is deduced by the other. At that point, both superheroes enter the Mutally Assured Demasking stage, and they can both start to work together rather than risk their own social destruction.

Correction...and I mean this respectfully as I am a Marine veteran. John Stewart is a Marine, not Army. Though you may see no difference, if you were to call any Marine by the term of soldier (the term used for an operative of the U.S. Army) you will surely offend them and he will surely correct you. Air Force has Airmen, the Navy have Seaman, Sailors and Seabees, the Army has Soldiers and Rangers...the Marine Corps has MARINES.

I will say this, for such a genius, Batman's secret identity could be beaten by anyone with x-ray vision. You'd think, by the time Superman came along, he would've placed a thin sheet of lead in between two fabric layers of his mask to hide his identity more thoroughly.

@@Oturan20 I mean, going by the video, he didn't. "...used x-ray vision to peek under his mask every time..." Now, *after* Superman, he'd be a downright moron to not block it. But given that lead is able to block any form of traditional x-rays, not just Superman's, I'm not sure why he never considered this option well before the Man of Steel rolled around. Beyond that, going into more supernatural or extraterrestrial forms of x-ray vision, then we're opening up all kinds of headaches.

@Oturan20 I mean, traditional doesn't quite mean realistic in comics. Really, I mean something with a terrestrial explanation, even a silly one. For instance, freeze rays of Mr. Freeze's level and fear gas of Scarecrow's ilk use terrestrial tech, bending the concept of what can and can't happen, while also following some rules. Gas masks still work on fear gas, Mr. Freeze's ice can and will eventually melt... and the only hard counter to potentially augmented x-ray vision would be lead. Even if it was doomed to failure, it's such a cheap and simple trick - one that is both reasonable to explain and would have worked - that I'm shocked he never thought of it before Superman.

Dracula really dropped the ball there. You told him a fake name, but rather than it being completely unrelated to your actual name, it was just your actual name spelled backwards. If you had just told Bruce your name was Kevin, he wouldn’t have figured it out as fast.
