When you look at it down to it's core, they are more or less the same. Both make use of prep time to devastating, had family die (more than once), have an enemy that knows their identity/their every weakness. Has an enemy they get along with as often as fight against. Both are constantly holding back. The main difference between the two of them is their powers, and the fact Spidey actually THRIVES in chaos and Batman loses effectiveness in chaos he didn't plan. Look at every time Batman loses. It is always when someone throws him off his game and makes things stop going along with his plans.

Even tho he’s considered a Superhero, I’d argue he’s a vigilante. Just not a perfect one. But in a world with so much fantastical & cosmic elements, if he can prevail in that by the grace of God, his wits or the plot, we can prevail in our darkest times as well. He does get beaten sometimes. But what makes those stories better is how he hits the comeback. To me, that’s better than any showdown he does.
