The way Batman/Jason’s death/the circumstances with the Joker play out in this are EVEN WORSE than Death in the Family. Jason literally hands him the crowbar the Joker beat him almost to death with, and he USES IT to SAVE JOKER instead! Fucking brutal!

What Jason, & people who think like never understand is when you push criminals too far they will lash out at everyone, & it will endanger everyone around them. That's why Batman doesn't kill unless there's no choice, & even then he tries to avoid it in most stories. If he does it won't be just a matter of him not trusting him to know where to stop it'll be a matter of bringing deadly danger down on all the people he tries to protect. Jason Todd is pretty much proof of that. He's a prime example of what happens when you go too far. It makes people even those close to you afraid of you & endangers em.

Jason’s reasoning at the end of the day is correct. Batman keeps letting criminals like Joker roaming the streets again and again, killing more people. His no kill rule is just harming Gotham and heck, harms those around him. You can’t spare a villain like Joker, who’ll always escape out of prison, kill someone, get sent back, and repeat the same process again and again. I’m 100% with Jason killing these villains that Batman can never do. The government isn’t dealing with these villains, you for sure can’t trust the court system to put them in their place. I wouldn’t feel safe around a man that lets psychopathic villains like Joker roam around freely in my city. Someone who knows that these villains aren’t going to change and who’s willing to put them down in order to protect the greater good is someone I’m willing to trust and follow
