I try to love Graphic Audio because the voices and sound effects are fantastic, but the narrator goes into far, far, FAR too much detail. I literally can’t keep track a lot of the time because he insists on describing every nook and cranny of the scene lol

The ‘zur-en-arr’ Alien reference towards the skit is a good one. Zurenar Batman was from Batman RIP I believe, and was his default persona to defend against psychological attacks. That was also when Batman was addicted to heroin and military grads amphetamines...

The Zur en arr alien reference is actually a reference to the original appearance of zur en arr, a silver age story in which batman meets and gets teleported to a planet with a batman like character, going by zur en arr. as it turns out, while on this planet, batman has superman level superpowers, and so he ends up saving the day. yes it's very weird, and the name and costume ends up reused for RIP. so while technically correct, it does date back further. (This story line is also referenced in the batman the brave and the bold cartoon.)

funny enough the Penguin did a pretty dumb move when he gave Mr. Finchley a Pied Crow (Making Finchley think it's a Pied myna bird) as the penguin said "they have no power of speech. That Bird can't mimic anything" to Mr. Decondor. however, the Pied Crow actually does have the power of speech as it says on an article "This pied crow has a lot to say! Crows, like other corvids such as magpies and ravens, can imitate human speech and other noises if they are exposed to them enough. In addition to repeating words, they can also mimic specific voices. Although crows can say words, they do not understand their meaning and are not actually “speaking” with people." so in all reality this either proves that the Penguin actually doesn't know anything about birds or let the anger get the better of him which is common of him to do. (Then again I'm just getting to focus on this small detail as it's just an Audio book lol)

Ahaha, yeah. I noticed they use rotary phones still but also reference online things. I think the other reply sums it up, though. 😂😂 And I think Gotham would probably lose some important flavor if they tried to make it a fully present-day setting, but we also don't want it to be fully 1930s either, so it's probably for the best that they mix the two some so they can have the best of both worlds.
