I think The Batcave (Rogue's Passage) would be a flavorful include, as Batman uses The Batcave to do a lot of his detective work to get behind enemy defenses and bring the villains to justice. Wayne Manor (Vedalken Orrery) would be good as redundancy for Robin and also be able to give your non-historic permanents flash. The play of Robin into Wayne Manor into Mr.Freeze at someone's end step would be so dope. Also since you are running white, you can do something with the Falcone a.k.a. Roman Empire (Smothering Tithe) to give you a needed boost in mana, it also makes the card draw hate with The Joker more impactful. #dragonshield

I watched this video 3 months ago and started to design my own Esper Batman deck. 3 months of work later I ended up with a 100% alternate Art Batman Deck, which I even printed on original cardboard paper. Chromium is a great choice for Batman, cool deck. Baleful Strix as one of the Talon in Court of Owls. Kept in stasis like an artifact till needed, it protec, it attac, it draw you cawd. Ancient tomb as the Waynes Crypt Geir Reach Sanitarium as Arkham Asylum Isamaru as Ace, Batmans loyal dog. Classic 1cmc voltron doggo, start the game running! Hawt take: Glenn, Voice of Calm as Tim Drake. Calm and collected they infiltrate (skulk) and get the data required. Killian, Ink Duelist as Jason. Sure I'd prefer Rakdos but Jason IS Menacing, survives impossible odds (Lifelink) and plans and targets criminals hence the cheaper spells targeting creatures. Karlov of the Ghost Council as Carmine Falcone, pay them enough and they will make a person disappear meanwhile they just grow stronger on the lives of others :P #DragonShield

If you wanted to lean into the control theme more you could include Aven Mindcensor as Commissioner Gordon because he follows the book and plays by the rules. But Batman doesn’t play by those same rules (demonic tutor). You could also run a copy of Alexi’s Cloak for instant speed protection and reskin it as the Cape and Cowl #Dragonshield

Awesome idea! I would have gone a different direction with some of these characters, though. Here's some casting ideas for DC characters that came to mind after this: Valki as "The Red Hood" and Tibalt as "Joker, Clown Prince of Crime." Kaito Shizuki as "Red Robin." Thraben Inspector as "Detective Harvey Bullock." Daring Thief as "The Penguin." General Kudro of Drannith as "Commissioner Gordon." Covert Cutpurse as "Jason Todd," and Covetous Geist as "The Red Hood Returned."

I think a good addition would be Kaito Shizuki as a Ra's al Ghul skin would work nicely. Being the head of the league of shadows I think the flavor is there. Super cool! You could also lean more into a vehicle strategy with the added support from Kamigawa. Smugglers Copter as Batwing, High Speed Hoverbike as his bike, Surgehacker Mech as his big mech suit.

I would suggest a Tyrite Sanctum to throw in the land slot. It taps for colorless and it's another way to keep your expensive Batman on the battlefield (as an indestructible God). #dragonshield

Cemetery Protector standing in as Commissioner Gordon could be cool. It has flash and it's abilities could have a cool flavor spin. He rushes in to clean up the streets of Gotham (exiles a card from graveyard), and calls in Gotham PD officers for backup (1/1 human tokens). #Dragonshield

I was waiting for a card representing Batman's utility belt but it never came, so I suggest Infiltration Lens. I was looking for equipment that lets you draw cards, and this one fits the bill perfectly. When the villains try to stop Batman, he'll reach for his belt to find more tools to defeat them! It's not an actual belt, but currently the only belt in magic is green so we can't use it. #dragonshield

I think Smugglers Copter might make a great Batwing. Good draw and discard. Argentum Armor might be good to represent the Mech Batsuit, and works with the voltron aspect. Finally, a Lilianna might make a good cat woman- She wouldn’t fit great with the theme, but Liliana of the Veil has a lot of versatility. #dragonshield

Alfred should probably be Giver of Runes, as he is unable to protect himself (Was killed semi-recently by Bane in the comics). Dr. Leslie Thompkins is good as Mother of Runes. Lucius Fox is an easy Stoneforge Mystic. Batterskull could honestly be the Batmobile, especially considering the flavor win with Stoneforge being Lucius. Wayne Industries could be Cabal Coffers, while Urborg could be Wayne Manor, or maybe Crime Alley, and The Monarch Theatre could be Thespian Stage. #DragonShield

Thats a rather cool deck. Probally a dumb sugestion but what about Venom(the liquid not the character) be something like grafted exoskeleton or glistoning oil, two cards that while power up the creature, also force it to act quickly with oil or sacrfice itself with exo. Lets go!! #DragonShield

I was thinking maybe Sakashima of a Thousand Faces depicted as the villain Hush. He can come in to play and copy Chromium/Batman, which ignores the legends' rule. It is flavorful for Hush and is still useful even if you don't use him on Batman. #dragonshield

But if you were to have some other sub-theme with death triggers and/or tokens then Teysa Karlov would be a good choice(as flavor: giving your tokens -a.k.a. henchmen- vigilance and lifelink seems on point) #Dragonshield

I'd quite like to have some card in the deck with the flavor of Batman pulling up his cape to protect himself. This could be in the form of a spell like Inkshield (where the inkling tokens have the art of a swarm of bats), or an Equipment to give Vigilance to Chromium and boost its toughness like Shield of the Righteous (making a literal #DragonShield)!

Archfiend of Infir for Scarecrow : AoE effect that weakens everyone, kind of like gas. Bone Miser for Penguin: idk. he’s a miser and he’s got this “quid pro quo” thing going on. I just get penguin vibes from this guy. Dreamscape Artist for Poison Ivy: maybe kind of a stretch but it does care about lands, and so does Blackblade. Masako the Humorless for Harley Quinn: good card in the deck, and the fact that it’s perfectly opposite, to me, makes it work for Harley Nezahal, Primal Tide for Killer Croc: big dinosaur These are just from my list and you might be able to tell I focus some on discard and wheels besides just flash. Wheels do work nicely with your Joker, as well as Narset (catwoman?) and Alms Collector (….Catman?) Ok all that said I’ve always thought of Ghostly Pilferer as kind of a “mini chromium” since it can discard to become unblockable, so maybe Batgirl, as she’s the only member of the Bat family other than Batman to carry the title “Bat” I’m kha0sthe0ry on moxfield if you wanna see my list lololol

Idk what you could add but all I see in my head are skins I want for the cards. I really think the trickster should have been joker since you add that bit of randomness with the draw one send one to the graveyard. I’d want to see mutual destruction as a joker style Instant. Damn would be Bruce on his knees in the alley as his world came crashing down. Brainstorm would be something like “Batman’s intellect” just him seeing what would happen before it happens kinda like RDJ Sherlock Holmes. The shapeshifters could be a clayface image. #dragonshieid
