I've seen arcade games cheat to steal your credits, but the lengths this game goes to are just too ridiculous to me. For one, pretty much every criminal on the screen will have a Danger icon. It's humanly impossible to avoid any damage because of this. This is a standard of games like this, though, so I'm not complaining too much on that point. Here's where we get into the real crap, though. The game has the nerve to damage you straight out of the starting gate at times. Think reaction time is going to save you? Yeah right! As soon as a criminal comes onto the screen, you take more damage. And I swear that at the end of the video, the game extended the fight long enough to get the final hit it needed to kill you right before the access code came up. Since the game goes on autopilot straight after you put the code in, the whole thing just serves as one big kick to the crotch. Even picking up power-ups is suicide. (Unless it's extra armor, which is so rare that it doesn't matter anyways.) Since you're not able to shoot for about 1-2 seconds, it's pretty much the equivalent of saying "Here, kill me."

+Alex R. (ATG) THANK GOD im not the only one who thinks this. Batman is awesome, but the difficulty in this game is absolutely brutal! You try to swerve side to side to avoid gunfire and you still lose armor, I mean good lord! Specular needs to see these comments and provide us hints and tips on how to be good as this game like being good at SHMUPS, I really want to get good at this game!

Mr.Showtime Actually, you know what I just realized now that someone (that someone being you) replied to me on this? Arcade games are like freemium mobile apps before freemium mobile apps existed. Think about it. Generally, both kinds of games put the player in such unfair situations that the only way to win at some points is to pay more money. There are even games out there that make you put more credits in just to get to the next stage, even if you do manage to win. The recent Star Wars Battle Pod is an example of this. Now, there are rare exceptions to this rule, such as the Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, which can be beaten with just one credit. However, for the most part, arcade games do have a frightening similarity to freemium games. So, basically there's no way to get good at the game, you just have to waste enough money. That's what I get out of that revelation.

I'm afraid this is the standard M.O. that most arcade games have always operated under, right back to their earliest days. Keep the difficulty high to keep the money rolling in. Good arcade games do this with a steep difficulty curve that require practice and memorisation, bad ones do it with cheap deaths, unavoidable hazards and impossible time limits.

Why didn't you choose the "Batman Forever" Batmobile? I like how does it opens it's middle wings while using the Battering Ram, Jump Jets, & when it goes inside the black vehicle transport, even when doing the finishing blow against the Joker's train. }X'-O
