MCU is definitely overrated. Doesn't matter what they put out. They can smear their shit on a piece of paper and marvel fanboys as well as critics will applause it. Love marvel though, I read their comics more than I do DC, however MCU is definitely overrated in my opinion.

+JoshLemus See you in Theatres when civil war comes out. That movie is going to do what DC couldn't. And that's combine characters with developed storylines into a political war where the viewer doesn't know who is right. This movie can make big bucks with a shitty score because of its name. But the Russo Brothers are gonna kick this movie's ass. Mark my words Civil War is going to be much better than BvS

The argument is so flawed. First of all, Pixels, Fantastic Four, and Gods of Egypt were NOT good movies. And BvS was good, not great. And I am not in the industry and I am not a fan boy. Second, no one ever said nor has it been proven that ratings and reviews always correlate to box office sales. Box office sales are driven by marketing more than anything. BvS has been hyped for years so of course in the opening weekend it was going to do well regardless of what critics said on Tuesday before. Also look at Shawshank Redemption. That movie bombed at the box office but was very highly rated and critically acclaimed. The thought that there is some conspiracy here to take down certain movies is ridiculous. What is more likely is that movies will perform on a curve where the middle of the curve is driven by marketing and then can perform + or - dollars off that curve based on fan review. In the case of BvS, it is going to continue to do well because there is a demand to see it. But just because there is demand, doesn't mean it's a good film.

+DisappearingBoy2010 Completely agree. The fact that this movie is doing well at the box office is that it's an established brand, it has 2 of the most popular heroes of all time, and it has been hyped for years. This movie was going to make a ton of money regardless. Also people keep mistaking the RT score as the actual score of the movie on 1 to 10 scale. In reality the movie's average critic rating is a 5, and to be honest that is absolutely appropriate. The bad taste of this movie hurts not just DC but the entire superhero movie industry. I like Grace's reviews and she is usually very level headed about this stuff, but this seems so out of place on her part.

I hope nobody is dense enough to believe that the studio made BvS "just for the fans". Do you realise how small the percentage of those fans are among overall moviegoers? If they only made the $250 mil movie for them they'll go completely bankrupt and its a fucking retarded decision anw. Just consider that BvS may actually be a bad movie. I didn't have to think very hard to understand the movie and it's still way too easy to spot all the poor decisions and writing in the film.

Grace, a lot of people hate Batman v Superman not because of the reasons that you gave.. ..but instead because storyline of Superman v Batman is just utterly shite. My 8 reasons, why I think this movie is sh*t: * They end fighting because they share mother's name?? what the f*ck * They have senate hearings not because Superman almost destroyed Metropolis but because there is very very small change that Superman was somehow involved in terrorist attack in middle of Africa?? * Lex Luthor Jr had a plan that was so intricate that it was 99% per cent based on pure luck and coincidences. Most of the movie Lex Luthor is trying to get Batman and Superman to fight, then creates a monster in a pool of brown toilet water for no good reason....How is it a great plan?? * Eisenberg is turning in his best impression of an unfunny Michael Cera as Lex Luthor. What the hell.. * Movie is mostly dream sequences and in the end you are just simply lost.. * People weren't invested enough in Superman and because of that Superman's Death was just wasted for this movie. * Doomsday who for some reason looked like Orc from Mordor?? * Utterly pointless storyline about Kryptonite-laced spear.

+Lord of mangoes Ahem: - Batman's mother, both his parents, haunt him to this day. Hearing her name out of nowhere of course stopped him and made him ask "Why did you say that name?!" - Superman saved Lois Lane from terrorists and then left without apprehending the terrorists, who then killed a number of civilians in the area for revenge. - Lex knew Bats and Supes' secret identities and manipulated them into battle, with Doomsday as a back-up which obviously he needed. - Tell me you don't know someone like that today? Eisenberg perfectly captured the "millennial" villain. - Dream sequences are clearly marked. - Superman had to die as karma for being so sloppy in MoS and BvS. - Why does anything in a comic book look like anything? He looked close enough.

+Lord of mangoes first point and I know ur a hater..... you seriously believe it's because of just the name? looking at that moment when superman gasp out the word Martha..... look at how batman reacts...... (its shows in the flashback to the first part of the film during that moment) he is reliving that moment when his dad last word was Martha, how confused he was and angry he was........... then Lois came in saying it's superman mother, that was when batman was really hit hard, batman was sure that today he is not going to let another Martha(a mom) die again (dialogue was pretty clear too)............ ben really sell that moment, its was 10/10 for ben when he play bruce and batman.

+Beyond The Trailer Ok, not trying to be that guy.. but there's a lot of rebuttals to what you just said that me and the average moviegoer would say: -Why didn't Superman mention Martha's name from the get-go? Did we need to see an unnecessary 2 minute fight (which this whole movie was going on) before Supes drop that 1 word? Poor writing! -Superman only saving Lois just goes to show how CRAPPY of a superhero he is. You mean to tell me he's been Superman for 2 years (18 months) and he still doesn't even know how to save a bunch of civilians? Again, poor writing. He only cares about Lois Lane in this movie. Someone of his power/strength could easily subdue those terrorists, why doesn't he care? Captain America would make sure to dismantle the terrorists and save everyone. Hell, Iron Man would and he has in Iron Man 1! -How and When did Lex decipher their identities? and manipulating them into battle just seems like a huge plot convenience just to keep the story moving. - And Eisenberg perfectly capturing the milennial villain? I beg to differ. - There are 2 dream sequences here.. and they really don't make sense. The Flash one was random as hell, and the Knightmare sequence, while visually appealing, came out of nowhere. Bruce Wayne was just staring in the computer screen and then bam! The dream sequence began - If only we cared about Supes as much, his death would've been more impactful.

I'm sorry Grace, I usually like to here your opinion on things but this video to me felt like a whole lot of wrong. Mainly for two things: 1) You fail to mention that one of the reasons people don't like it is because they genuinely think the movie wasn't well constructed, therefore not a good film. Hell, there are some critics who actually love seeing these characters portrayed in this tone but hate how the film is edited and scripted to the point they can't help but call it a bad film. 2) In terms of how this fan... critic... whatever-the-hell-it-is backlash may affect future film projects, "I don't buy it". I don't see how the backlash of this film, or any of the others you mentioned, will prevent Hollywood from trying out more experimental ideas. Again, sorry, but that's my viewpoint. 😧

You didn't consider the fifth and sixth possibilities: 5. The movie is actually bad 6. The movie is OK, but it was so hyped that a mere OK wasn't enough. Therefore, it falls to the category "unsatisfying", which a lot of people consider as "bad". Also, to add a perspective, I think that yes, for a movie like BvS, it is normal and acceptable for people to set a high standard and expectation, coz it is the kind of movie that SHOULD get past a high standard NORMALLY. That's why, it is reasonable that a mere OK is translated as just bad. Man of Steel was OK, but because of that very OK the movie became so unpleasant. The same thing happens with BvS in some sort of ways, therefore it is bad.

The problem with the internet, is too many people rely on it. BvS was a pretty good movie, and the majority of people who didn't like it, already went their with preconceived notions thanks to those reviews, or their own prejudices. I understand there were some confusing moments, along with WTF moments as well. However, the actual story was pretty good. The problem with comic book movies, is people aren't used to a story being told; they're used to tons of action, comedy moments, and nothing really deep or complex about it. This movies was really deep, and very human in its approach and that's what threw a lot of people off from it. You go to a superhero movie, especially one involving Superman, and expect to see some sort of vibrant, American pie type character.

Grace, there's a fifth reason. The movie is a jumbled mess. Even lots of people who liked it will admit that. There are dropped plot lines, pointless plot lines (looking at you, Lois Lane) and a performance by Jesse Eisenberg that is very off putting for a lot of people. Just because people don't like a movie that you like doesn't make them bias.

Sometimes a bad film is simply a bad film. Granted a lot of work went into it, it just didn't translate well and I put that down to the jumbled script. Goyer first, Terrio stepped in and revised but it seems too much was missed in plot and too much was thrown in to expand on a universe just starting. They need to keep it simple, tell a stand alone story without grasping at potential storylines years down the track.

in response to your points. 1. Nobody is asking for a Marvel movie. What we would like is characters with depth, that aren't brooding for the sake of being brooding, that represent their source material well with fleshed out plot points and characters. A coherent and consistent movie would be nice 2. No, Deadpool did stellar. 3. Watch regular peoples reviews.. Some of the reasons the movie is getting mostly meh reviews (remember the 29% just means only 29% of people gave it a score of 6/10 or higher. It's average score was 5/10 which is a rotten score) is the following: Because neither character was actually the character they were suppose to portray. None of the scenes in the first act connected to each other. There were scenes that survived no purpose other than to setup sequels (Spider-man amazing 2 syndrome) The Martha thing is ridiculous. Supermans death was way too soon and completely pointless Lex Luther was an entirely unfleshed out Batman kills people Superman kills people Neither hero acted heroic for majority of the movie More heavy handed Jesus imagery Wonder wonder and lex luther could have been cut from this film with little impact to the plot The editing was choppy, the progression of scenes made little sense, especially with how some of the dream scenes were cut in. Ect.

Rotten Tomatoes' scoring system sucks. The movie is on a 30% rating despite the average score being 5.1/10. It should be 51% rating. That 30% just means 30% of critics who watched the movie liked it...which is a bullshit rating system. Here's why - If you say a 7/10 rating counts as "liking" a film and 100% of critics give it that rating, then the movie will be rated 100% on RT despite it only being a 70% movie. Do you get what I'm saying? Thats why Zootopia is a 99% right now, despite the fact that the average score is 8/10. The rating system either inflates the scores or makes it seem worse than it is. A lot of people say they would give the movie a 5/10....well thats what it currently actually is on Rotten Tomatoes. Go on it now, the average score is 5/10. It should be rated 50% then, not 30%. RT should change this because it really is quite a terrible rating system. The rating should be the average rating from critics to give a much more accurate depiction of how good or bad the movie is
@jadeprincepk
@jadeprincepk 8 жыл бұрын
Zootopia is 99% because of the story it tells which deals with racism, discrimination and stereotypes. If you read the audience reviews, you would see that some disliked the heavy subjects it had and did not have a lot of jokes and other normal cartoon content.
@demi7913
@demi7913 8 жыл бұрын
Prince Windsor That's not the point I'm making. The 99% means 99% of critics liked the movie - it doesn't mean the average score is 9.9/10. Which is misleading. It's inflating the actual average score, which is 80%. Because of RTs bullshit rating system, the movie has a 19% higher rating than it should. And Batman v. Superman has a 20% lower rating than it should

I like how she said that she wasn't going to impose her opinion on the movie but this whole video is her opinion. First off, I didn't like the movie cause it was a huge mess. There were a bunch of things I did like in it, but it wasn't drawn out in a cohesive way. We kept jumping from scene to scene and it didn't flow well together. And that combined with the enormous amount of stories and character motivation that didn't seem to make sense really didn't help the movie. Plus I absolutely hated how batman contacts wonder woman and reveals all the justice league cameos through one email. Literally every single cameo. It was lazy writing and didn't even belong there. They could have done so much better and if they made it more focused and less jam packed then it could have been a good movie.

box office doesn't mean jack shit. box office didn't match RT score for the transformers and the twilight series as well. I'm not a fucking critic, i paid money to go watch it and this movie has so many obvious problems which i do not need to repeat .some good visuals and well shot action sequences cannot redeem this movie.BATMAN and SUPERMAN(with SPIDERMAN being a close third) are without an argument the two biggest/most well known superheroes in the world. So it's not a mystery that this movie is making money, and of course everyone is going to watch this movie, not just comic book nerds. It's such a big property !

Also I've noticed that it's the so called Fanboys that defend a lot of the Bullcrap in this movie, she argued that Fanboys feel they have power so they hate on Batman v Superman, Which really doesn't make too much sense, money speaks louder, and it was the Box office flops that caused Pixels and Fant4stic to not get a sequel, Not critical outcry, she debunked her own point, Transformers always get shitty reviews but they always make money, It's about the money labowske, so yeah they will make another one and nobody is self diluted enough to actually believe that reviews matter more than money.

What perplexes me about Batman v. Superman is that I am a Frank Miller fan. And I religiously read his comic even Batman & Robin All Stars. So I saw that Batman and I liked it. It was essentially a highlight reel of DC lore and I didn't mind it. If you gave it a 7/10 I agree. I'm more of an 8/10 on this movie. But it shouldn't be a 33% metacritic score. I think if you're a sympathetic Marvel viewer or even a fan of it, this movie is not for you. It is humorless storytelling in DC and that's why a lot of us didn't mind. I can see critics who are into cinematography not liking. But I can't see any fan say this isn't true to the comic.

I just love how she ignored that maybe BvS made a ton of cash because it was the first BATMAN SUPERMAN CROSSOVER MOVIE. Well no duh with that branding it would make a lot money! That doesn't mean it was a well liked movie. Batman and Robin, 1998 Godzilla, and Star Wars Episode 1 were the highest grossing movies the year they came out too. Did critics screw them over too? What does she mean it's like most comics too? Amazing Spider-man is still lighthearted and funny, Ironman comics arenot dark, and Batgirl is like an abc family sitcom.

The movie was a solid 8.5/10; it was well written, well directed, and well acted with plenty of interesting reveals and character moments. I wonder how many people truly hated the film and how many people are just groupthinkers joining the hate train. Ultimately, it's frustrating that people make it their personal mission to ruin the success of a film that they have no interest in because it poses a competition to their favorite studio. 😡

+Zani Castle I agree with you, That Marvel doesn't always make great movies. Iron man 3, the First Captain America Movie, and Both Thor Movies were all sub par not to mention the original Hulk. Also, I would say that Fox doesn't make Marvel type movies (even if they are using marvel characters) and Some of them are very good (X-Men 1, X-Men 2, X-Men days of Future past, and Dead Pool) Also Sony made some good spider man movies (with Sam Rami's Spiderman 1 and 2). On The DC side there is the Dark Knight Trilogy (which the middle one being the strongest movie but they are at lest good) As well as the First Tim Burtan Bat-Man Movie. That being said there are all types of good ways to make a good superhero movie. I would even go as far as to say the T.V. Shows like Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Gotham, Heroes, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones. All have amazing stories that are all very different but all super hero stories that work. DC is also my favorite and the one that I personally wish I could fight for in this fight for movie supremacy but they are going to have to make much better Superhero movies if they wish to accomplish this.

Regarding Disney's supposed great relationship with the press: Lone Ranger got a 31%, Pirates 4 got a 32%, Need for Speed got a 22%. Regarding the press hating Warner Bros, Midnight Special is at 87%, Creed got a 94%, and Mad Max got a 97%. Perhaps there was a bit of a disconnect. Perhaps the movie was a 40-50% range movie instead of a 29-30% movie. But I think it's unprofessional to call out your fellow film critics and question their integrity and motives. WB's best course of action is to make a better movie.

Okay Grace, there's a bit of a gap in your logic here. You're saying the negative reviews were trying to destroy the movie, but the Friday box office numbers flew in the face of that. This tells us that, for the most part, PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT REVIEWS! This means that the drop in box office returns was due to word of mouth, friend to friend. It wasn't the critics or fanboys that led to this movie's lackluster performance, it was the lackluster quality of the film itself.

Lets go over a few of these biased critics... Nobody championed Man of Steel more than John Campea. He calls it a masterpiece. He hyped Batman v Superman endlessly on his podcast and movie talk show. He was disappointed by the film, and is on twitter calling for Zack Synder to step away from Justice League. Angry Joe is a massive Superman fan. For the last 7 years he has worn a Superman shirt in every video he made. He defended Man of Steel every chance he could, even taking on the Nostalgia Critic over the movie. He too was disappointed by BvS. You can tell he's heart-broken in his review. Kevin Smith, in addition to being a filmmaker himself, has worked for DC comics. He hosts a massively popular Batman podcast. He is personal friends with Ben Affleck. Despite all this, he was also disappointed in BvS. He calls it heartless and dour. He said he felt relief when he read the critics tearing the movie apart, because he worried it would just be him that didn't like it. Chris Stuckmann, Mark Ellis, Jeremy Jahns, Screenjunkies, Schmoes, Collider crew... list goes on. Real fans that wanted to love the movie, but were let down. So maybe it's not a grand conspiracy. Maybe, just maybe, the movie didn't deliver.

I went into BvS ready to hate it and make fun of it due to all the criticism it got and its incredibly low ratings. Surprise surprise, I really enjoyed it. It definitely had its problems, and it's easy to get confused especially if you don't read comics, but it's definitely a huge improvement from Man of Steel, which I was a movie that I didn't think was very good. All 3 heroes; Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, were wonderfully cast and wonderfully executed. I could definitely see the Justice League in them. Ben Affleck's Batman is probably my favorite Batman on the big screen. I feel like there's so much to him that they must be setting up a prequel that expands on how he became so cruel, as even the promo comics explain that he wasn't always like this. Wonder Woman was just epic. The greatest fighter in the DC universe really showed her stuff and made me very excited for the WW movie coming out next year. And let's not forget the actual Batman vs Superman fight. Batman may have won, but they gave Superman all the justice he needed in that fight, throwing Batman around effortlessly like a rag doll and making it clear that Batman would've been destroyed if Supes wasn't so merciful, a trait that Batman adopted by the end. I thought the fight was handled perfectly.

The problem, is that the vast majority of people who saw this movie are not DC Comics fans. They tend to be the casual moviegoer, or folks who grew up watching these heroes on TV and were shocked by what they saw. That, and they're so used to the upbeat and not as dark tone of the Avengers and X-Men. As a DC fan, I love the movie, and can't wait till Suicide Squad is released. I'm hoping that film will excite audience members into appreciating the DC Universe more.

It is impossible, how can this movie be bad? You just didn't understand the mega-super-duper-deep meaning of the film that nobody understood, but it's there somewhere. It is DC movie right? So there must be smth and also Snyder who made Watchmen made this movie. Even though it was almost totally scene-to-scene adaptation and all of it's deepest themes were Moore's ideas, but that doesn't change anything. One more even though - Snyder never had anything deep in his movies, but it doesn't change anything, because he made Watchmen, which had "doesn't change anything" stuff too, so it has to mean something. And also, it is super comic book accurate movie, which was combination of two brilliant comic book stories and some other too - TDKR and Death Of Superman and some other too. Em, eh, even though the first one gets only visual references, while second one was just an mixed up ending. Also that kind of combinations usually result in total mess, but it isn't fact. You just didn't get it. There was no bad direction, total mess, no character development, crappy dialogues, incoherence and other stuff, because all of it was intentional, even though it makes no goddamn sense, but that doesn't mean anything, because it's DC and it is Snyder. So conspiracy is totally a fact, even...em, ok, whatever

This has to be some sort of spin control tactic. Critics don't have the kind of numbers to pull off some comic film paradigm shift. Maybe the real reason is the 2nd thing she mentioned, people are unfamiliar with this particular story arc they are choosing to portray. DC Comics spent 75 - 80 years developing their characters and getting their characters known. So most people who don't even care to read comic books, have a general sense of what kind of persons Batman and Superman are, so when they go the theater, they have one concept in their mind, and then this film flies in the face of that. For example when Batman is just straight up murdering everyone in his path, the first thing that goes through people's mind is..."But I thought Batman doesn't kill, that's his one rule" and then they see this? You've already turned off and alienated the viewer. Sticking with Batman, if you are a Dark Knight fan, as I am, we use many words to describe him. One word that will not be anyone's list however is "gullible" an this Batman was GULLIBLE like nobody's business!! Lastly if you're going to portray a story arc, how about just sticking to that story, not throwing a bunch of story lines together and hopefully it sticks, clearly WB/DC realizes they are confusing people who saw the film, that's why they released that bonus clip. It's doing the complete opposite and confusing people even more however.

+hilyfe01 This video never analyzes why the critics gave the reviews they did by examining the content of most reviews. If she had, then she would find that many reviews were mixed and for good reason. Her explanation for why the critics gave the reviews they did was almost a conspiracy theory. This theory never brought up any of the arguments given by people who gave the movie negative reviews, so all that is left is what she personally feels is the reason for the bad results of this movie. Even though she said she would leave her personal opinion out. That is mostly why I disagree with her on this and anyone who would share this argument regardless of gender.

It's finally happened: Grace has resorted to conspiracy theory to explain why most critics don't agree with her. She compared Snyder to Kubrick. And once again attempts to convince us that if a movie makes a lot of money it must be good (last time I saw, it was Fifty Shades of Grey she said that about). Oh well. I just can't help wonder what her IQ is.

There is something to be said about legitimate criticisms from "hardcore" fans and online movie reviewers. Just because they didn't like the movie as a whole for very specific reasons doesn't mean you get to automatically dismiss their concerns as only "opinion". The notion that you can buy movie licenses for fictional characters that have been around for decades, change dramatic qualities about them then expect everyone to just go along with it, is absurd. If the director | studio want to do something "different" create your own characters from scratch and tell a brand new story.

I'm sorry, but that first point is very wrong. everyone loved Chris Nolan's dark and gritty batman movies, EVERYONE. The backlash has nothing to do with it being too dark and gritty, Nolan proved dark and gritty can be amazing. the backlash comes from the fact that this was a poorly paced, terribly edited movie, with a HORRID score that never slows down (in a bad way) that could have been amazing. ben affleck, henry cavill and gal gadot were all great, but everything around them was crap. This just showed all the viewers how good this movie could have been, had zach snyder not been directing. Which makes people hate it even more.

I think the main reason people have a problem with this Superman franchise is the dark theme. Man of Steel is a cold, unfeeling character. So before I get into anything, I strongly disliked Batman V Superman. I thought it felt rushed, and at the same time boring in certain places. I didn’t like the huge focus on Batman (since they could have done that in his own solo movie), and as a Superman fan, I hated the fact that he was brooding so much when on screen, and that Cavill didn’t get more dialogue overall in the movie. I HATED Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor Jr (which btw is no excuse for him acting like a socially awkward Riddler), and Doomsday should not have had any part of the movie whatsoever. Now, to address some things in the video: 1) I don’t need a Marvel like formula for a Superhero movie. I just want a faithful adaptation of the characters that I have grown up with and followed for years. I think that the majority of comicbook fans and comicbook movie fans would agree. That’s why so many people enjoyed Deadpool as much as they did. It was a near perfect portrayal of the character. Batman is expertly portrayed in this movie because he is naturally a darker, more serious character. Wonder Woman was second best portrayed because while she does have some lightheartedness to her, she can be darker as well. She is an amazon warrior after all. Superman has always been a “bright” character. He is not supposed to be brooding and depressed all the time. In the comics, he is a beacon of hope and light for the majority of other heroes and the public. I get that they want to have a realistic tone to his character, but he is AN ALIEN FROM ANOTHER PLANET THAT CAN FLY AND SHOOT LASERS FROM HIS EYES, some fun and lighter moments can happen with him, as well as more inspirational ones than just him (SPOILERS) sacrificing himself to stop Doomsday. Have a moment like in All Star Superman, when he talks the girl out of jumping off of a Skyscraper. Let Superman be a sign of safety and security, even if the public hates him. The fact that he would be as warm and kind as he can be despite that is what makes Superman great. As for the whole not being in on the current comics and video games argument, there are still aspects of all three of the Trinity that are in Comics and games from the last 5 years that were not properly portrayed in this film. I am very well versed in comics and games today and I am still not a fan of what was going on with this movie. I do agree with it being a bit inaccessible for non-comic fans, another fault of the movie, not the movie goer. There were a shit load of easter eggs and references to the greater DC universe, to the point where again even fans were a bit lost on the whole deleted scene and some of the points made in the movie. 2) I disagree that there are too many Superhero movies out on the market today (however I’m a superhero fanatic). However, when it comes to the number of Superhero movies hurting the market for other movies that just isn’t the case. There are still tons of other movies put out throughout the year. While there are 7 Superhero movies coming out this year, there will be dozens of movies that come out that have nothing to do with them. I do agree that it does hurt the potential for smaller movies to do well, since if they were to come out the same weekend as a Superhero movie, they’re more than likely going to get destroyed. Also, Marvel absolutely should not be the only studio that puts out superhero movies. I want to see great live action adaptations of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Shazam and so many more from the DC side. Plus if they go head to head on the silver screen, they need to compete with each other, making better films to try and win over the other, and in the end it’s just better for movie goers. 3) REALLY??!! This entire argument about having a good relationship with the press is just a BS excuse to justify why Batman V Superman got SO many negative reviews and avoiding that fact that it is a very flawed movie with a huge number of sloppy pieces being in motion. Just because the press doesn’t get to see a movie super far in advance doesn’t mean they shit all over the movie because of it. This is an invalid argument 4) I can agree on certain parts of the movie that were great. Batman as whole was fantastic (I want a solo Batman movie now), the fight between Batman and Superman was fun, and some of the interactions between the trinity at the end were entertaining. But that’s about it. I did like parts of Batman V Superman very much, but in my opinion that wasn’t enough for it to be a great movie. Again, Eisenberg as Luthor was horrible, Doomsday was unnecessary and didn’t look nearly as good as he could have in the design department, the CGI was inconsistent, particularly with Superman, and there were a multitude of plot inconsistencies that took me out of the movie. The movie as a whole is flawed more than it should be, and that needs to be acknowledged. That being said, if you enjoyed the movie, that’s your opinion, like all of this is my opinion. You have a right to enjoy a movie, and I’m glad that people loved Batman V Superman. To conclude, it should be said that it could have been better. It had the potential to be such a critical success and financial success, that it would have had Marvel kind of nervous for what the DCCU has in store. This movie as it is, I felt did nothing to Marvel.

Read a modern comic book, get your camp fix from Superman the movie, Reeves was great for his time but it's been time to move on. You cannot have what you had mostly because the world we live in now IS different than the one Reeve's Superman was catering to. Also understand this is Superman growing into the character that we know and love. He hasn't gotten there yet, but he will. We Superman fans need to give Cavill time to bring this rendition of Superman into its fullest light. Until then, we are criticizing a Superman that is still trying to figure out how to be Superman in a broken world such as ours. Have a little faith man.

Justin Eimers I understand that they are having Superman "grow up" and gradually learn to be the ideal Superman, but they still could have had him not be SO brooding, even when saving people. Just a moment or two where he's comforting the people he's saving, saying "don't worry, everything's gonna be OK", something like that.

Grace, I don't think people wanted fun/jokes/lightness in this movie. Christopher Nolan destroys that argument. BvS was marketed very much as a dark film; including tone and visuals. Peoples main complains: unrelatable Superman, Batman kills, and 'Martha' is the keyword for them to become friends. Batman is angry and hurt after the death of a friend, he keeps on having nightmares of loosing his family (and maybe in deleted scenes loosing even more friends). The only way for batman to work is if people fear him, and be the strongest and most dominated threat of all. But when Superman shows up, batman is nothing anymore. Batman is just a fly on the wall in comparison, a silly fantasy. So the only way for Batman to show dominance and strength is to go rough. Batman is blind of rage and fear, and ends up killing and torturing, loosing his way. The film is through batmans eyes, and he only sees Superman as this godlike figure, only seeing him unreachable from above. Not a human, a dangerous killing machine, a god an alien. This is reflected in the dream sequenes where for each one, a worse scenario appears. Building up his fear. Superman struggles, because all he wants is people to like him, and appreciate the help he gives. But Batman isn't able to see his humanity. The moment Batman hears his mother name in the mouth of superman, is the moment Batman realizes superman is human too, with struggles and people he loves. Batman regrets his actions, and decides to save Supermans mother. When Superman is loosing his fight, Batman regrets not seeing the bigger picture, and has to look with guilt on supermans fall. He decides to become a better person, and fight for Supermans legacy by protecting earth. But since he's not strong enough to do it alone, he decides to seek help from others.
