I was skeptical of this figure myself wanted to wait it out it just looked too odd shaped and bulky... but I saw it in person at a nearby comic shop and that did it for me. Looks really good in person. Cape looks great in diving stance, can't wait for a few more from Mezco.. looking forward to getting BVS superman, Red Son superman, joker one of the punishers and Knightmare batman too. I now own this one btw, very happy with it.

Great looking figure! My only complaint is the neck joint. I would've preferred the cowl as a solid piece like the movie.

You didn't mention the articulation of the cowl. The cowl can rotate and is designed the same way as the hot toys version with how it's one piece and connects to the figure.

It's an ok figure. The cape is way to long to sit naturally, the second headsculpt is silly and the Buck is weird. The DKR figure is still the best they've done so far

The headsuclpt is weird, and i hate that the utility belt is way too high, Mafex version still the best

Mezco is better; More and better accessories, more obsessive attention to detail in the sculpting and paint work that rivals even Hot Toys (especially the head sculpt), wider range of poseability options, better quality control, superior materials, extremely smart engineering...this thing essentially combines the look of a high-end 1:6 scale figure with the articulation of an import 6-inch scale figure. The Mafex has nothing on this. It's not a bad figure, but literally the only things it has going for it that are better are the slightly more capable ab-crunch and being able to pull down the legs. If you were able to compare the two in real life, you'd see what I mean, and that's not even mentioning the fat neck, the terrible cape, the ridiculously proportioned upper-body, and the very mediocre face sculpt and paint job. It's like comparing a Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black Series to an S.H. Figuarts. It's no wonder the overwhelming consensus from action figure critics is that the Mezco tops the Mafex. I just got my Mezco a couple of days ago, and both this and the armored version are probably among (if not the) best Batman figures ever made. Also, the utility belt is a floating piece so it's not fixed to be right below the torso. You can lower it to its proper place.

Jean, I agree with you for the most part, but I think the main problem for me personally when it comes to the Mezco figure is the cloth outfit. It's not very form-fitting to the figure and makes it look like pajamas on the figure. If there was a way to combine the sculpted outfit into the Mezco like the MAFEX figure or have a better outfit that is more form-fitting and made with a different, more accurate material, then the Mezco would undoubtedly be the superior figure in nearly every respect. As it stands, I don't like the outfit overall because of the material used and the fact that the bat symbol is too narrow on the chest and not fully accurate to the movie. Other than that, it's a great figure overall.

With regards to the form-fitting factor, it's hard to say whether that is a matter of the camera adding ten pounds to the figure in pictures and footage, or I've formed some bias that's clouding my judgement, but I received mine last week and the only nitpick I have with it is that the scalene muscles in the neck area are not a 1:1 representation of Ben Affleck's anatomy. Other than that though, I can't find anything wrong with the figure. Images really don't do these mezcos justice, especially the mediocre product shots. You have to hold them and see them for yourself.

Jean. The body of the suit and neck were never modeled on Ben Affleck's body time it was someone else the molded that had a similar body to Ben. So the neck area being 100% similar to the actual suit in person is an understandable thing. Still the figure still looks good just alot of people bitch and moan on it complaining over the fabric clothing without not realizing the point of the line being made for people who were interested in Hot toys figure but didn't want to pay the price or had no room for them even wanting more articulation. So that's what Mezco's One 12: Collective line is for but still people wanna complain just to complain. Instead of just them understanding the line and if they don't like it or prefer traditional figures without cloth goods then okay just don't bash someone liking this line especially how great it is too see something like this work in such a tiny scale.

first of all, i think they are both good figures and there are both flaws that can turn people away from buying them. for the mafex the neck is based on batfleck's cowl design which comes out wider below the main head piece. if you look at it from straight on it pretty much mirror batfleck's look in the posters, so i'm not sure where exactly the "fat neck" started from because it simply isn't true. the torso on the mafex is also mostly correct it just seems segmented due to need for articulations; in the movie Batfleck's latissimus dorsi is actually very wide, in fact wider than his chest if you look closely. mafex's mistake was sculpting part of what suppose to be the chest with the shoulder evident by the verticle lines that goes up from his chest into the shoulder. the waist on the mafex could be wider imo and also the paint job on the face needs dramatic improvement. And the crap shoulder articulation needs fixing. now the mezco's problem is that they used a generic body (i believe used the same body as Cap) which for a comic character looks fine, but makes Batfleck's shoulder 3x as wide as his head which is not correct to how Batfleck looks or how normal human looks. The upper torso is very short where even when you lower the belt at the waist it is still too high lining up with almost the elbow instead of the middle of his forearms. if you were to lower the belt even more to line it up with the middle of the forearms, the belt would be right in his man region. his thigh is the same or shorter than the lower leg. i'm pretty sure the femur is suppose to be longer than tibia. not to mention the non-articulated waist. Other than proportion mezco did a wonderful job sculpting the rest of the figure, so that's the drawback of the mezco. as far as saying mafex is like the ML and Mezco is SHF... you do realize underneath the cloth, the way the mezco joints are done are very simple right? i.e. pegs go through the limbs to connect the elbow and knee, simple ball-peg shoulder joints; the same way hasbro does it for years. i wouldn't say they are on the same level engineering wise as SHF. mafex isn't ML either because they actually do have proper joints everywhere, but they do need way better QC. if Mezco had got the proportion right, you wouldn't even have people still like the mafex better save for people that flat out hates cloth on 1/12 scale figures.

Height wise, probably, build wise, not at all. This one looks more bulky than the Mafex Armored Batman.

souldrum86 it's not bad being a close second for $70-80 bucks depending on where you get it. Mine ended up costing me 65 on eBay because of a 10 dollar coupon I had from ebay and I couldn't be happier. I have the hot toys version as well but you know how it is with hot toys, they're pose able but you really don't want to pose them because of how easy it is to damage them in some way so it's just in a static default pose in my glass display.ive been handling this one quite a bit so I've gotten much more enjoyment out of it which makes it feel like a better purchase to me.i do love that hot toys batman though, as simple as the design is, it's by far my favorite batman figure and I have a lot from hot toys,mezco,neca,pak,mafex,mattel,etc.

Also have to add that if you went to any of the cons when they had the film suits on display, this is more accurate to that. The hot toys version is how it looks in the film with all the color correction and since he always appears at night.

The bunchiness on the suit looks awful. The armored batman looked like shit too, especially that huge thick cape

The fabric isn't loose at all. The most that it bunches up for is some of the arm articulation, and it's only to the same extent that an actual suit would on a person. The application and stitching of the soft goods is very tight. The muscle tones from the body mold are pretty apparent and emphasized, but the tightness doesn't come at the expense of articulation. As for the armored Batman, the only nitpick I have with that figure is that the cloth between the legs forms an ark with some poses, but the floating utility belt hides that very easily. I personally think that Mezco makes the best soft-goods capes. The thickness and weight of the materials makes it very hassle-free for them to keep their position with stationary poses, so it's very easy to get them to look natural. I personally fold armored Batman's cape outside so that the edges are parallel to the armor collar, and it looks awesome that way. That's not even going into all of the stuff you can do to it with the flight stand clamps.

I am in the minority, I think the Mezco looks horrible. The buck they use gives a lot of their figures, out of shape mom hips and thighs. Everything looks fat rather than bulky. The past few Mezco's have showed me the limitations of cloth at this scale. I just think it looks BAD.
