The game does make you set the brightness pretty much as soon as you start up the first level. I assume he must've played it at the default, which is pretty freaking dark...

I enjoyed this game. I don’t think it’s as bad as you say it is. I can get into details but there’s way too many. I never felt the frustration that you express here. I have it on gamecube and I found the controls to be simple to use. The training in the beginning helped to prepare yourself for the rest of the game instead of trying to figure it out during the game. I found the gadget and grappling to be cool. My strategy in the bat plane was to stay down like a car until the end, then you got all the time in the world to damage mr freeze with no obstacles. The boss fight with poison ivy I figured out because I saw the monster was holding things, there had to be something more than just shooting the arms because they just go back up. I agree with the last chapter it’s faster and easier to run away from the goons. But other then that, In my opinion it’s a good game.

i really enjoyed this game as a kid, thanks for reviewing it. i guess you´re right about the terrible camera, frustratting thugs and boy i hated those street signs XD. yes its a dificult game when you´re not cheating, but i didnt found it frustrating. i thought the first person thing was very cool and made u feel ur batman (sorta ¬¬). To be honest i keep playing it on my wii and found it a better game than the batman begins official game.

you need a guide dog to see what's going on here. pretty sure GameCube has more colours than this...think somebody would have shown the developers how to use them. the Scarecrow fight & Mr Freeze fight in Batman Arkham Asylum were amazing - scary but awesome. I've got most of the Batman animated stuff and it's unbelievable they produced this game based on that series.

honestly the level right after the poison ivy chapter, that was my nightmare, i never could get passed it, my dad actually beat most of the game up till that point, and neither of us can

25 punches to the face like that I am pretty sure would knock someone clean out cold. I don't know why combat would force you to restrain enemies. What's wrong with punching their lights out and they are defeated so you no longer have to worry about them. In an FPS on the N64 you attack by karate chopping enemies and defeating them by doing this defeats them just as if you used one of your weapons. They don't get back up. They just are defeated and disappear. I understand the idea of booking crooks after defeating them is a creative idea but it just slows things down.

Exactly. It also breaks some of the later levels where it's extremely possible to run out of batcuffs so the enemies never leave you alone because they just keep getting back up. Batman Dark Tomorrow did the same thing with the batcuffs but at least it had the common decency to never run out of them.

I've never played Batman: Vengeance or Batman: Dark Tomorrow, but I like the idea of having to cuff people to keep them from getting up. However, it's probably not as fun as it sounds.

Your Right about this game there are some Problems in this game like The Camera is only first person mode not in third person which is a problem then the combat in the game is stiff

I....never beaten this game. I got to the act where the enemies had flameflowers and I think it was the last act. I defeated the first two enemies at 16:21, I kept dying about 300 times there and even AFTER i beat those two I kept dying! DEAR Celestia why is that so hard? I just could not beat it, why is that so dang hard...

***** The only one I heard that was decent was The Adventures of Batman and Robin on Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis All the other games range from being below average (Batman: Vengeance, Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu, Superman: Shadow of Apokolips) to being among the worst games ever created (Superman 64, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Batman: Gotham City Racer)

What poison ivy received wasn't prometheum it was joker toxin as clearly referenced by joker when he says that he used poison ivy to mass produce the stuff quietly. And its a completely different colour so I have no idea how you got them confused.

The Game Boy Advance version explicitly states that the Joker gave her Promethium, NOT Joker Toxin. The Game Boy Advance version also explicitly states that he gave Poison Ivy the Promethium so that she'd become a major threat and Batman would clear her out of the chemical plant. That way Joker could go to the plant and make the Joker toxin himself. The console version doesn't say what the hell he gave her, since we never see what Promethium looks like, and the dialogue where the Joker explains his plan is so vague you can't say one way or the other what exactly happened.

***** Oh i see. Sorry i only have the xbox version(although it seems to function much better than gamecube in terms of fighting and controls). But i thought prometheum is what was in the tanks you drop on mr freeze in the boss fight.? if this is true than its blue.

KILLABAZINGA708 I hadn't thought of that. I played the GBA version first and you stop Mr. Freeze from destroying the supply of promethium and the promethium is green. Since Mr. Freeze is trying to kill Isaac Evers and not necessarily destroy the promethium in the game, it could have been anything in those containers. I assumed they were just regular cryogenic chemicals.

Question- What video capture software do you use for games?

I don't recommend it, but I hook up the game console to a DVD recorder, burn the footage to a DVD, then transfer the video files from the DVD to my PC. I need to buy a new one; the one I've got now won't record in widescreen and it's not terribly high res. For PC stuff I use Fraps, which I also do not recommend. I've had problems with it in the past.
