He has moments with his adopted sons who we know he truly does love and I know that has to make him happy in a way. It’s just a shame we’re forced to subscribe to this idea that Batman isn’t happy ever. Plus it would be a new story to see how he actually handles marriage and being the Bat. If he can’t handle doing both, I feel like them showing him realize that later is much more impactful if it has to happen.

I think that would make Batman even more motivation to do it! The one thing that every Batman should never do: killing scum criminals! I know there's Damian but if his mother is fine with putting him into the killing environment from a beginning, Batman actually cared and we all knew what he did to try and fix that. But isn't that mean he's also fine with Damian will be dead someday as a Robin? Well the kid loves being Robin and willingly doing it tho so whatever; Batman had risked his life to resurrection when his ass was once dead already! also the parents r seperated anyway. But to protect his actual beloved wife and especially a freaking baby, in desperation he would do it! Yes we all know the kid would be a badass in the future but this just makes a major weakness to Batman! But nonetheless I'm actually really sad for Bruce, poor him!! 😢 I really do want him to be happy, this just leaves a bad taste for every fan out there, but I get it.

Support comes in different forms, she would be his partner in every sense of the word, fighting by his side and do the things he can't or won't do. She would've been a missing piece that could've made Batman better and he the piece to make her better. At the beginning of his career, yes, He was angry, ruthless, he'd cripple criminals, but his life changed as he got older, he raised four children, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and his biological son, Damian. He's not angry anymore. He's calm, thinks his way through, keeps himself leveled. He's been the father of four, and when he lost his parents, he felt alone, but he learned that he had a second father, his butler and best friend, Alfred. His family grew bigger and bigger. He was happy. He's proven to be happy and be Batman time and time again. This turn of events were both unfortunate and unnecessary.

Honestly what I love about this run is that everyone from villains , hero’s, and his kids give their input on the wedding! Honestly I get it. Thee Bat has always been, at least in my eyes, the man that takes all of the world's negative emotions and uses them as fuel. His tragedies become plot points. His pain becomes his strength. The epitome for turning lemons into lemonade and then giving it to others out of good will. So yes, if Bruce was happy he could not be the dark knight. I'm going to put this out there. I've never being much of a bat man fan and likely never will be. I have many valed reasons for this. You all likely know them all. As have all of you, i know you all felt the same frustrations, again and again over and over I come back to the main single reason why I can't like bat man. It's a simple fact. A statements he'll never change he'll never progress. At the end of the day he'll always be a sad little boy unable to move on from what he's lost. Sure DC will ad this character and that character, a team mate here a villain or ally there. But at the core bat man can't be happy. He can't move forward. This I can not abide. But I went into this arc with an open mind. I hoped just this once bat man would progess there would be a change. Sure it wasn't likely to stick, retcons and reboots will do as they will. But I hoped just once for a litte while. Bat man could grow. So while not buying any of the books leading up to this I made the promise that if bat man married cat women that if the story progressed. If the character was finnaly taken off his hamster wheel. I would buy every bat man related comic leading up to this and make bat man comics one of my mains. But no you couldn't do that could you DC. It's ok I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed in myself more than you. I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

If he were to continue being Batman, he'd have to be fueled off something new.... he'd be fueled off hope. Hope of a better Gotham for his wife and for his future. But we can't have that, we can't have happiness. That's Superman. We have to have the Dark Knight. We have to have tragedy. We have to have Batman. Ultimately, that's what makes this sad and frustrating.

I'm disappointed. I was so looking forward to the wedding. Much like Clark and Lois finally being together and married I hoped it could establish a new dynamic for Bruce and Selina where they work together as heroes and as a couple. I hope in a future issue they come back and go through with it.

I think..this makes sense for Catwoman. Though I agree with the majority consensus that the hype was all for nothing. This would technically be Catwoman's first act as a hero. Ensuring Batman remains to watch over Gotham. Regardless, still excited to see where the rest of the series leads.

I don't like this at all but I do like how bane is sitting there like a Mastermind behind all of this. I think him finding happiness and love again could also benefit him cause he wouldn't want to go through all that pain again which will keep his motive alive by him remembering his parents. He's done a great job so far at that, look at his bat family starters, dick, Jason, Tim, Barbara and even now his son. He's done great at loving and keeping his love safe(for the most part). I will say though, joker might have watered the seed of doubt in Selena but at the same time he did know what he was talking about.

Agreed. This would've open a whole new world for the Batman franchise. Perhaps not in Rebirth, but maybe in one of the many reboots that are sure to come for DC, I hope we get a writer with the nerve to go through with getting these two together, have them be happy and still kick a$$. I guess I can't blame Tom King for being a subpar writer, but I can blame the people who hired him. And didn't Tom King get some criticism for an issue of a walmart exclusive comic of superman, where superman thinks of the various ways Lois could be killed, it was basically a snuff comic. The man needs to be taken off the main story lines.

Bats and Cats were living as man and wife for nearly 2 years under King and in that time he was shown to be sadder than he was in any other book in Rebirth. He also did more Batman than he usually did. What is wrong with fans? King made it very clear early on this wasn't going to happen. I hate that he mad Selina look so stupid and cluless in the end. I mean you are already with him and he did not stop batmaning.

Still waiting for the 3 jokers storyline right now and my theory of the 3 jokers is when doctor Manhattan first came to dc new 52 he knew Batman would become the god of knowledge and ask who is the joker and would later find out that he has took 10 years of everyone's lives so to throw Batman of track he pull pre-new 52 superman and take the killing joke joker and og joker from their timelines and have them at there prison where they hold Tim drake so when Batman asked who the joker the chair would know about the other 2 to throw Batman off track Edit: I think the Batman and catwoman marriage was disappointing Bruce might as well date taliya because that's more interesting then what we just got

I hate the "give it time" argument. It's insubstantial, and hinges on the non-existing to keep it floating. All the while, you are expected to endure one frustration after the other, purely of the premise of "It MIGHT get good".

It depends. If you are judging a part of a story thinking that this is to be the climax when it is in truth simply the beginning of a story arc I can understand being disappointed. But you can't say that the story was bad, just that the story had a bad beginning. I'm enjoying the story so far and am looking forward to see where it goes.

What truly pissed me off was how big the build up was (the variation covers, the cute moments between them, the fact they spoke of their past demons, how they looked at and held each other, the heart to heart they had with their family and friends, the progress Selina made with Damian, the double date with Lois/Superman, the beautiful and simple wedding invitation, etc), Batman rebirth was the first comic I actually bothered to buy every issue (up to #50, because after that I dropped it) of, and now I know better.
