Because CGI takes incredibly long to do well, look at games in general, FF for example, always a CGI cutscene at the start, and one at the end, because it would cost too much, take up too much storage space, and take too long to have all cutscenes be CGI.

My wishlist for Batman Arkham Knight (so far) #1: No cheesy shock gloves #2: A option to disable the HUD completely for a cinematic effect #3: The option to change the right analog stick sensitivity #4: Loads of easter eggs #5: Dynamic crimes in progress, in BAO they would just appear in-front of you and it was always a gang fight or someone getting beaten up. This gets boring fast. In BAK it would be great if I could be gliding and see a group of people robbing a band/store and I have to stop them or track them down and regain the stolen money (this would work great for Batmobile car chases) I will add more to this list as I think of stuff, please post your own wishlist ideas; if you want.

Ok, so I haven't played Arkham Origins yet, but I'm getting it in a few weeks. I know they have those gloves, which to me seems like a bad idea for Batman but good for an assassin. My question for you is: can I turn them off? I really don't want to be shocking people all the time, it would be really annoying.

I really like this. It captures perfectly what Batman's crusade is: putting on a mask for a long Halloween, descending into a nightmarish cityscape just as nightmarish as his mind, but less noble. I think his father's will is a significant contribution to the Batman mythos. All those years later, those words echo just as strongly. A nice plot twist would be for Harley to find some peace and healing, maybe actually helping in the end. Also, if Arkham Knight were Thomas Elliot, that would create some interesting drama - Gotham thinking Bruce Wayne is really a monster when he's actually its hero. He's the billionaire Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

I don't understand why people say Arkham Origins was disappointing and only praise Rocksteady Studio. To me it made a perfect sense to create a realistic explanation to whole Arkham Universe and Warners Montreal did a terrific job in not only doing exactly that but also setting the tone for Rocksteady's Next-Gen Arkham Knight. Not taking anything away from neither of the games, after watching Arkham Origins trailer, Arkham Knight Trailer (especially Arkham Origins TV Spot) is unbelievably more epic with connection to Bruce's Humane Mentality and Batman's Violent Brutality. This is why I love Batman Franchise: both Dark Knight Trilogy and Arkhamverse have producers who care about what they make. Can't wait for Arkham Night to be released.

To those complaining that it won't be available on current gen platforms, if it was, then that would seriously limit the potential to make the best game ever on next gen, holding back the overall game design and dynamics. The game requires the capabilities of next gen platforms to be the game that it is. Without next gen technology, you can forget 50 enemies on screen at one time, you can forget all the extra features and enhanced awesomeness possible on next gen platforms, you can forget the batmobile tearing through the streets of Gotham an area 5 times the size of Arkham City, you can forget soaring across the rooftops of an environment the scale of Gotham city at all. I haven't got a PS4 yet, and probably won't for a long while, till it comes way down in price. But it doesn't bother me that I won't be able to play this game straight away upon release, it's just great that such an epic game is being made.

I have PS3 at the moment. The reason I didn't buy a 360 was because you have to pay yearly for online. NOW, FOR THE DAMN PS4, YOU HAVE TO PAY $50 A YEAR FOR ONLINE. I'm upset :-/ :-( ;-(

NSXShockwave Actually you mistaken for if you want to play multiplayer you must have Gold Membership. Same is for PS4, i cannot lie because i dont have PS4(does Sony copied same to can play multiplayer or they did for both).

WB and Rocksteady I'm sorry, But don't go straight to PS4 & X-Box One just like that! PS3 and 360 deserves a chance to have this new masterpiece on current-gen systems. But the game requires the capabilities of next gen platforms to be the game that it is. Without next gen technology, you can forget 50 enemies on screen at one time, you can forget all the extra features and enhanced awesomeness possible on next gen platforms, you can forget the batmobile tearing through the streets of Gotham an area 5 times the size of Arkham City, you can forget soaring across the rooftops of an environment the scale of Gotham city at all. I haven't got a PS4 yet, and probably won't for a long while, till it comes way down in price. But it doesn't bother me that I won't be able to play this game straight away upon release, it's just great that such an epic game is being made.

john doe Actually, the character at the beginning could be either: Yes, there is a new villain, but the old ones are there too, and teaming up. It sounds like the Scarecrow is part of that teamup, and the threat at the beginning sounds like what he's been revealed to be doing. (Planting fear bombs throughout the city.)
