The arms are removable as ive put the other arms on to have her without the jacket

Fantastic review, I was lucky to find both sets last week in store! The paint apps on Ace are definitely improvement and the paint applications on the Dalek and the overall look has definitely become my main 'Imperial Dalek' on display, fingers crossed that I can grab a couple more of these sets so I can have an army of Daleks being led by the Specials Weapons Dalek! Love the turntable too!

Great review. This is a fantastic set with fabulous detail on Ace. The Dalek is stunning. We’ve been spoiled this year from B&M. Got mine from Castle Vale retail park Birmingham if anyone’s struggling to find in the Midlands. Thanks again Matt.

This set is a winner for me, I had the original version of this Ace, but she had an issue with her arms, so I always displayed her without the jacket, and the Silver Nemesis one with the jacket, so now I have three distinctly different Aces. And I really love the Imperial Daleks, like as a design I've always thought they're great, but I've never been able to get either of the previous figures of them, I kept missing out on them, so to be able to finally have one is a dream come true. My thoughts on the mesh is exactly what you said there, the colour it's been painted makes it barely noticable, it's really a non issue for me. Plus with the eyestalk being the best it's been on any of the three imperials, and also the first time we've had both a correct plunger and a correct gun at the same time (you've probably noticed this, since you have both previous versions, but the original had the straight gun but a standart curved plunger with just a couple of notches cut out, and the later one in the set of four had a new modified plunger but the earlier concave gun) it's by far the best one they've done, I'm glad that when I've only managed to get one of the three, it's been this one. I'm liking the spinny thing for displaying figures in the video, btw, that's very classy.

I think that's what I'm going to do with regards to displaying the figures, keep this one as is, then do Remembrance in the T-Shirt and have the Nemesis one in the jacket with the rolled up sleeves (my prefered Ace look). Definitely the best version of the Imperial Dalek to date too, given that it's very unlikely we'll ever get a new sculpt. I'm glad you like the spinning display! Everyone seems to be giving it a thumbs up so I'll keep that as a regular fixture! I thought it was a bit more interesting than a static image!

@@batmanmarch I think that gives the most dynamic assortment of Aces. The SN version is my favourite look too, I love the tights with the red zigzag up the side, wish I knew were to get some of those, irl, very funky.

There's an Imperial Dalek in the story with a black iris because the foil around its eye came off. Eagle Moss did the same variant, however, their's is 100% accurate. We'll definitely get a release with the silver iris in a History of the Daleks set. The mesh is disappointing, however, it still looks great.

Interestingly, if the mesh and that really puts anyone off, I’ll direct you to the Big Finish story, The Juggernauts which as a strange merging of the Necros and Imperial Daleks, so this could fall into that category

I just rewatched the Remembrance of the Daleks scene where the Imperial Dalek squad encounters two Renegade Daleks and it looks like the Imperial Dalek in the foreground does actually have a black iris instead of a silver one, so I guess this figure is at least screen accurate to one of the props.

Yeah, it's a prop malfunction. A silver disk fell off and showed the black surface.

This set is amazing as I have never been able to get an imperial dalek and finally getting one - for 20 quid and everything! I also like how the eye stalk has been fixed. So happy with it!!

I have both this figure set today, and am very pleased with it. I am watching "Remembrance of The Daleks" at the moment. A brilliant story I remember watching on transmission.

The arms are removable I couldn’t remove the bag so I had to remove an arm to get it off it is a pain to stick back in so I’d advise anyone to be careful! Great review Matt

If you swivel her arms back so they're behind her the rucksack is quite easy to get off.

I just removed the plunger and replaced it with a earlier release of the same the dalek it feels alot better and looks better

The reason this imperial Dalek has a black iris instead of the correct silver is because in part 4 of The serial one of the imperial Dalek props iris disk fell off whilst filming the Imperial V Renegade fight underneath the bridge. If you rewatch the scene you can see it briefly next to scout 7 (the one which gets blown up) it’s a blink and you’ll miss it detail but it’s their. As for the mesh on the midsection for this release I actually prefer it including the mesh tbh. It looks awful without it imo. The mesh adds an extra bit of detail to the sculpt. It also makes it pop more. Personally the set is a huge win for me xx

I still think this set would’ve been better if it came with aces baseball bat instead of the rocket launcher as that scene of her bashing the dalek with the hand of omega bat is far more iconic than her blowing up the dalek with the rocket launcher

In the episode, it was reflective silver, kind of like a CD. I guess it could be tricky to get the desired effect.

They could’ve used the silver paint for their new 60s Daleks from History of the Daleks or make it white idk

@@astrochaos4182 I think white could've worked but that silver still wouldn't achieve the look it had in the story. I personally cut down a sequin to fit inside so it had the mirror finish.

I'm a little frustrated with this because my local B+M has quite a few of them, but still hasn't shifted the Axos or Friends and Foes of 13 sets, and so hasn't got the new TARDIS or three pack sets I REALLY want.

There certainly seems to be distribution issues at B&M's end. All of my local B&M's don't have any of the last wave, just all of the first lot.

@@batmanmarch I think it's to do with sales, or so I've heard. If they don't sell, the stockers don't order the next wave. I'd guess our B+Ms aren't frequented by enough nerds and/or eBay scalpers... First time I've wished for scalpers!
