We are all supposed to be adults, but often times we do not act that way, especially where we can easily hide behind social media. Recently, I was accused of being a scammer for what was an oversight or simple misunderstanding. There are always two sides to every story. I am human, and I make mistakes all the time. Today I address my side of the story, and clear the air in a matter that could have been handled easily years ago.

There are pockets of people in this hobby that hate me, whether it's jealousy or they just simply dislike my personality, some are constantly negative and stir up drama. I don't need everyone to like me, I'm very happy being surrounded by so many positive and amazing people in this hobby. Usually I let the hate and character degradation slide, but when I hear another channel is airing a hit piece on me, it really shows alot about their overall character. Do you ever see me going after others personally in a hurtful way? Yet certain individuals constantly do this to others, not thinking of the consequences, not thinking about how it might affect family's, lives, ect. I'm tired of the bullying behavior!
I've been blown away with how many collectors and KZbinrs that have messaged me, denouncing the acts of these individuals, and are personally tired of the negativity they spread. I want to thank you all for the support and positivity you've shown me over the year. Yes I've made a lot of mistakes along the way and I'm sure I will make more, but sometimes you have to stand up and say enough is enough.

Some of the worst bullying, slandering, mean spirited attacking that I’ve witnessed in this community. For this petty, small minded, jealous, POS (sorry) individual to come after you like this is beyond words. Chris, you are one of the kindest, honest, salt of the Earth people I have had the pleasure of meeting and honor of befriending in this hobby. Over the past seven years you have become a close friend and to see you harassed like this ……well, it fires me up to say the least. I can think of no reason why this dirtbag wannabe would attack the way he is. Your video covers the details of the ‘transactions in question’, so I won’t go there. Keep up the positivity Chris. I too have been accused of "scamming" someone and have been banned from groups without proof of any kind and over a misunderstanding. Long story short I had sold multiple pieces to a fellow collector, only to have him not be able to pay for the entire order. I sent him the statue equal to the amount of his deposit... yet he claims I scammed him . It's tough but you just have to remember that there are some nasty people out there.

I love watching you Chris but I didn’t like this video for several reasons… 1. You seem to value positivity over truth. We watch your video reviews for the unbiased truth, not for you to “remain positive” by protecting your relationship with statue companies. They are not one and the same. 2. It was extremely petty of you to threaten a lawsuit. 3. You mentioned several times “I am not perfect.” The constant mentioning of this caveat while describing a situation/their side of a story is a major red flag out the gate and says the person is refusing to own their part in the ordeal. 4. You said how you “made it right” with the person from a couple years ago, but I don’t believe you ever mentioned an attempt to “make it right” by the guy wanting the exclusive piece. Only that it was your oversight and that the piece meant a lot to you. You should either pay for him to return the whole statue for a refund or just be the bigger person and give him the exclusive piece. You always tout your insider relationships, you’ll get another sentimental piece somewhere down the road. Maybe not of that particular statue, but of a different statue. Just my opinion…

Thank you for your comment. I have not sold Ivy to anyone at this point, so there is nothing to return. Also no lawsuit was threatened, just that our family friend that's a lawyer mentioned to me that what they are continuing to do is defamation of character. I am a human being and do make mistakes, and I apologize for them, but I never want to hurt or deceive anyone ever.

I am an average size statue-collector and I only watch a handful of channels who participate in this hobby outside of being in a few facebook groups, and you are one of the most consistently down-to-earth and honest people I've seen in all my years collecting. I've had statues break in shipping, but I NEVER went insane about it, you simply handle it like adults internally. I'm very sorry this is happening to you Chris, this is very unfair and genuinely sad that this person is doing so much for something that is rather minor at the end of the day. I do remember you stating that the plant would not be included, in the video you posted. It's also the buyers responsiblity to do their diligence and communicate/ask questions. Mistakes happen on both sides but I do find it very suspicious after 2 years of being silent, that buyer would come out accusing you of scamming him and want/accept compensation... The community has certainly changed since the beginning. When we all talked about Sideshow pieces and loved the chit chat back and forth. All of the chats attracted some of the worst folks out there. Resellers looking for ridiculous price hikes, bad attitude ppl attacking you for any and all reasons from behind their keyboards just because they can, and just the denizens of social media, that no own else wanted to deal with in their groups. Generally unpleasant people, in any and all groups on FB, joined the statue groups. I guess some ppl are just miserable and want everyone else to be miserable. Keep on rocking man.

I'm not even buying the poison ivy statue and I clearly heard u say u not selling the exclusive part cause there signed and the mean so much to u. Tht dude who came at u over 2yr death stroke purchase was false. Talking a out hes a fan and didn't want problems. Naw, there was money and supposed missing parts on the table, so him not saying anything for 2 yrs juat sounds shady especially in the statue business and how expensive they are. tht man was perfectly fine for 2 yrs and most likely kepped watching your vids. then he saw a opportunity to get u basically in my eyes. As much of a fan he said he was, he should have known u would have no problems fixing wht needs to be fixed if there was things missing. Nxt time when u sell take a photos of all the convo all the way to the complete purchase and archive it so if anything happens, u can pull up all the condos and pics to prove their falsery

Hello Chris, I’m sorry for your Bat-Cave troubles of late and understand your genuine distress. Do you mind if I ask if the person who scribbled out the ‘Special Edition’ Nomenclature on the Deathstroke shipper also took that same black marker to the Printed Markings on the Figure’s base? And if so, did You, when detailing and describing this item prior to sale, make special mention of this change in the Item’s classification? I only ask as something similar happened to me. A few year’s back I bought a SE PF Armoured Batman from a guy in Florida (yes I know that mine was a SS and the Slade Wilson was not) but I was hugely pissed off to discover on receipt that not only was my clearly advertised SE now less than a lowly Limited Edition by way of horrid black marker applied to both shipper, Art Box Base Sticker and the Statue’s Base Graphic but in addition, discovered that this Seller had in fact removed the Special Edition item…a much awaited BvS Grenade Launcher and was, as discovered more than a week later, actually offering it for sale for $250 on one of the more obscure boards after asking me pre-sale if it was one that I had access to? Of course I was furious and flipped my lid. In my case the seller deliberately, shamelessly and wilfully obscured, falsely advertised and mis-soled me a Special Edition PF, which without the Grenade Launcher and said defacing of Edition Type / Numbers / various Graphics/ base ect, was now worth much less than a basic, shop-soiled Limited Edition housed by a asphalt-smoking bong-user with copious number’s of very sticky children.. and that’s besides my feelings of frustration, utter embarrassment at being so easily ripped off by someone I trusted..and the OCD triggering sense of incompleteness which came later yet remains! Sadly, I had not, according to him, made my objections known to him in a timely manner and he was therefore unwilling/unable to satisfy me or ‘buy me off’ in anyway and also denied selling said Exclusive Edition Grenade Launcher that same month. Alas, there are still a few high-end, massive statue-shills out there pretending and masquerading as the ‘good guys,’ with Promo-Driven Company support, free statues and new prototypes ect for review, sometimes indulging in remoulding or really sneaky Exclusive selling/ after ‘shipping breakages’ ect and all whilst thinking that this perpetual corporate support coupled with a slew of mindless, online supporter’s will protect them from the consequences of cutting corner’s, lie by omission’s and simple false-representation/mis-selling/scamming to those that trust them most…are simply, as Arthur Peck has it..’awful,’ as they should know, ‘With great subs comes great responsibility!’ Anyway, at least you’ve settled with your unhappy buyer and I’m sure that he was really made up with your kind recompense… I never recovered from my ‘Loss Of Expectation’ and hunted my scammer down and eventually, after doing my little happy-dance, threw him to the US Postal Service for blaming them, for making a false lost claim and earlier, unsuccessful claim’s for damage, defacement and the selective nicking of the much lamented Grenade Launcher! Although it didn’t feel like winning, I got my money back, all of it. I got to keep the statue too and eventually bought one of those fancy 1/4 Kryptonite Spears which looks better anyway and as for the Seller..he probably just shrugged it all off after blaming me for making a fuss. I know he cried a lot about how it was all a big mistake and how his wife loves him and his dog licks his face so he must be a really good person but hey…I don’t care about that at all…he lied and cheated me….yet got off lightly... including a ten month’s suspended in County should he get caught second time!! Anyway… happy collecting and remember., people trust You for the genuine integrity and the honesty seen in your eyes…which was kinda difficult when hidden by your sunglasses tho.. Although I knew that I was being ripped off immediately, I suppose that I was intimidated by the Seller, his reputation and his really aggressive following. Sometimes when we’re new or unsure of ourselves we can either cower/suffer or just take a lot of things on trust and ‘hope’ that others treat us ‘fairly & squarely.’ In my Seller’s case his ‘good’ reputation allowed him to get away with just about anything and didn’t understand that the bigger one gets, the more ‘squeaky and clean’ one needs to be..if not already so. In general, I’ll never again buy or sell anything without a detailed list of all contents ‘present or otherwise,’ plus descriptions and photo’s too as it’s not worth losing everything on a shortcut or quick buck or suffer year’s of bitter rancour across social media. I think if I could go back in time, then a real time, face to face on line; it would have saved me an awful lot of trouble, misery and cleared the air. Anyway, it’s all done and we’re wiser for it…here’s to being straight up, playing safe, being kind and not taking anything or anyone for granted… Cheers Spider

I've watched your videos for over a year now (when you popped up on my recs during 2022's SDCC); I'm sorry but anyone accusing you of scamming on anything regarding the statues is off the mark. Human error happens. You're a good dude, as fallible as the rest of us, but definitely not acting maliciously. From my perspective you lied by omission. You should be transparent about what you're selling and what you're keeping and the price should reflect that instead of just caviarding the EX on the box and sell the exclusive item later on at premium on top of that (500$ for the ex Deathstroke's hand holding batman's cowl, it's the price of a premium format from sideshow). What I mean is that some people, especially the newcomers in this hobby can feel abused and you must be transparent, it's even more true coming from someone with your reputation. You look like a good guy and I appreciate your content, but you kinda deceived me on that move. Not trying to take a side but look how it hurt the guy. 2 years later he still has a grudge just for a lack of transparency. It could have been easily avoided. You went back on his radar when you tried to sell Ivy but without the EX accessory. Now I don't know if you clearly specified it this time but it's always important to come clean in this hobby. I received great feedback about my packing, 3 buyers have gave me feedback saying in there 15 years in being on eBay, They Never seen an item this well packed !!

I currently bought a Scorpion from this guy and spear is a bit crooked and eyes looked like it got tainted by something and he told me he bought it from someoen else when I think he did the edits himself. Generally where there is smoke there is fire. Shady selling tactics plus the misrepresentation of what you were doing with giveaways from statue companies is questionable. This latest poison ivy sale shows a pattern. Like your content so will keep watching but clean up your act man. If you can’t afford the hobby then get out of it. Can definitely understand the pressure of producing content and folks expecting you to buy high dollar pieces, but that’s no excuse. I’ve sold over 15 pieces, some worth upwards of 4K in the last couple of years and am always honest. Most of my sells were mint pieces but some had issues, I made that clear, took extra pics, and bold typed it in the description. Also dropped the price for any issues to get the pieces sold. Reputation is everything in this hobby. Be a man, own up to it and make it right.

When it comes to the give away in question, the individual in question told me that he had no interest in doing anything with the little review items, and since I was the "batman" guy, I could take them and do what I wanted with them. So I reviewed them, and gave them away to the community. There is always two sides to every story. I've also given away a ton of statues over the years only asking winners pay actual shipping costs. Everyone has been extremely happy to receive a statue.

I've sold a Piece not a long ago and the Buyer reported, that the Statue had some repairs done. I have never noticed it and was a little shocked, because I have sold it as a Statue in good Condition. I have never noticed the done Work. I have sent a Part of the Price back to Seller and we were good. No Drama.

We are way less civil then we used to be, more agitated, quick to anger and quicker to judge. All symptoms of larger problems. Your channel is a value to the KZbin statue community and I thank you for it. But I do wonder one thing: Why are you breaking up exclusive sets? I understand that as long as it is disclosed to the buyer and they accept those terms, there should not be a problem. But for me there is an undelying "wrongness" to breaking up an exclusive set -- the exclusive item(s) should stay with the statue in my opinion. And this may be an underlying reason why you are having some problems. In any event, thanks for all you do, Chris.

Not a habit to do that, but in the case of the Ivy EX it's a piece that I want to keep and the buyer will have to buy understanding that. No everyone cares about the bonus parts, and are ok with getting a used statue in the condition it's being sold in. I do not remember the particulars of the Deathstroke sale, but I did want to make it right to compensate the buyer.

Just try to forget about it and move on. The bad experiences always seem to outweigh the good for a positive person like you as you actually care what people think/feel. Having heard both sides and without a vested interest in either channel, I can unbiasedly say (let’s face it, most comments here will be a little biased) that the other channel’s resentment towards you may be legitimate if their allegations about some of your past behaviour and actions are true, considering that there was potential financial/personal gain involved in said actions and oversights, to the detriment of other parties involved. That being said, I get the impression that your influence has been mostly positive and that those who like you will continue to do so, and even possibly justify questionable actions. At the end of the day, you’re the one that has to look in the mirror and live with the truth. If mistakes were done, intentional or not, you can always strive to do better moving forward.

Kinda on or off topic, back in May I bought a Prime 1 piece from a eBay comic store; the Styrofoam wasn't sealed/tape, pieces of the statue had moved around, and I didn't get the brown shipper either; but the statue was unbelievable in Great shape, I wouldn't buy from Them again, No Negative feedback, I just let it go !

I was the first one to point out in your first "poison ivy is for sale" video that whoever bought it would expect that exclusive part and you didn't mention it in that video that you were keeping it but rather showed it right along with the statue as if that tasty tidbit signed by Jim Lee was going with it... So you need to be more careful and specific. No I doubt you're a scammer but know that anyone not happy for any reason will flame you to vent their misgiving. You can't control that but I think your expectation that people in your online community "trust" you enough to buy stuff from you with friends and family payments which is the absolute biggest Faux pas both buyers and sellers can make. I think you can't control this stuff or people's reactions but maybe be a bit more careful about your presentation of things and run business things online like a business. PS - still think you're crazy for ditching that green IVY in favor of the flesh color one but to each their own.

I don’t think you need to expend your energy on this. Those that know you and have followed you for some time now, would know that your intentions are pure. Leave the drama to those that are invested in it. You can't change or control other peoples perception. They will think what they want to think irrespective you are right in reality.
