When I was a kid back in the 60's & 70's this was my favorite show. Every episode had them jumping in the car and going through the same procedure to start it up. The sound they gave that car was awesome. Simple show without the hightech computer graphics. Great Stuff!!! Thanks for posting it.

CGI just doesn't cut the mustard! It's getting better but they keep overdoing it, and bragging about it, instead of just quietly feeding it in.

Adam’s batmobile is an automotive work of art caused George barris understood what the car she be even though the car was made from a Lincoln futura there was multiple made for the show so only the first car was the futura the rest were either for falcon or galaxies probably due to similar wheelbase

Thanks for posting, one of the most well cast shows is history. The way they slide down the poles and jump into the Batmobile is really fantastic when you watch it even now. Such grace, the flow of the capes. The costumer probably never got the recognition they deserved either, here’s hoping they did.

I remember my Pops and Uncles showing me this for the first time back in the 90s. Mind you, the Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer movies were out, along with Batman TAS. I remember thinking, "wth is this?" Lol. I didn't appreciate it back then, but I do now.

This will always be cool! As a sidebar, this scene was taken from the episode, "The Minstrel's Shakedown," which I recently re-watched. Though I wasn't too impressed with The Minstrel when I first saw this episode when it first aired, (I was seven, and would have preferred to have seen The Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin, or even Catwoman,) I now have a much better appreciation of this off-the-wall character portrayed by Van Johnson: The Minstrel was - if not THE FIRST, then definitely one of the first - depictions on TV of what would now be called a Cybercriminal. Though The Minstrel's caper was necessarily more "hands-on" than anything that their 21st Century counterparts do, (sneaking in to plant electronic devices - BIG electronic devices,) it still involved "hacking" the Gotham City Stock Exchange and the local Television Station to commit his crimes. In many ways, The Minstrel was WAY ahead of his time.

The big turntable for the Batmobile was great. If I recall, it was only revealed and shown in operation near the end of the 1st season, maybe first in the 1966 movie...? Before that, viewers were left to wonder how did it get turned around between arrival and departure? Did Alfred have to go down there and make a 5-point turn with it?

Unless Wayne Manor is located away from other homes, when the Batmobile left the Batcave, other neighbors would see it and figure out where Batman lived and who he really is.

it's interesting bc seatbelts were not a regular in cars throughout most of the 1960's. They only became standard in 1968. Showing batman and robin regularly buckle up probably served as a PSA.

No lgbt, vegan, enviromentalist, anti racist groups to complain about nothing. Today batmobile would need to be pink painted, Robin would be a transgender woman, no punchs, no Penguin, etc..
