But if you think about it. Christopher Nolan kind of justified it in The Dark Knight. He gives homage to this scene when Joker intimidates batman to shoot him with the batpod but batman intentionally misses cause he wasn't trying to kill him just intimidate him. Not only were his means of stopping bad guys without killing them unrealistic, Nolan Batman also did things that in real life would have killed lots of people. Crashing police cars into concrete barriers (sometimes flipping them over), speeding through a shopping mall in a motorcycle with people having to jump out of the way, shooting through doors so he could crash through them (but remember he doesn't use those icky guns!), blowing up parked cars in the street that are in his way without checking whether someone is sitting in them... but the writers swoop in afterward and say nobody was killed, so as to keep his record intact.

I understand preferring Nicholson's Joker to Ledger's, but honestly, it's just a personal preference as both performances were fantastic. If you like a zany, funny, but menacing Joker who is more faithful to the comics, then you want Nicholson. If you want a more serious, demented, and psychological villain, Ledger is your man. I can't agree with that Nicholson's is more badass than Ledger's. No, Ledger did not know Batman would not hit him, and I actually think that's what Joker wanted. Ledger's Joker was psychological. He wanted Batman to break his one rule as it would prove, at least to Joker, that he had triumphed. Also when he let Harvy Dent stick a gun to his head and flip a coin, to which he simply said, "Now we're talkin'."

You're not alone. The Atmos mix has been a huge point on controversy since May when the 4K remasters of the entire "Batman" series played theatrically. What WB should have done was just include the Atmos track, the original Dolby Stereo track and the DTS track from the original DVD (which honestly sounds much better).

All these years, I wondered how Joker knew Batman would miss him. And I finally realized…… he had absolutely no clue! He literally played chicken with the Batwing, not knowing whether Batman would land a hit on him or not (because he is aware this Batman has killed other criminals I.e. Johnny Gobbs) and he got lucky! When Batman finishes unloading his ammunition, Joker opens his eyes, realizes, “Holy Crap! I’m still alive! My turn!!!!” And then proceeds to take his shot at the batwing. It’s pretty in line with Joker’s character because he would definitely be crazy enough to play chicken with a fighter jet 😂.

It's 1989, in the movie Batman, the Joker hauled out a revolver with a 21" barrel and used two hands to shoot down the batwing. Though unrealistic, that was an ordinance destroyer then too. If you need one shot to make it count, this is the giant handgun to use, lol. The show stopper with a long reload time.

The acclaimed animated series was inspired by burton's vision, yet both are set in two different universes. They don't exist in the same continuity. To me that's a bum, mainly because in the series we never got a decent introduction for the joker, if he had escaped in the movie, the the relationship between the two would've been even stronger

With each successive transfer of this film, those miniatures become more and more obvious. I practically burst out laughing when the Batplane crashed. You can tell those cars on the street are glued on to some kind of particle board.

I haven't watched the film since the days of VHS. I don't know whether it's because I was a kid or now I'm seeing it in higher quality, but only now I notice how entire shots are models and the cars look like Matchbox cars.

I just love this movie and this scene is hilarious Batman missed the joker with all those bullets then the joker shoots down the batwing and even he looked suprised like oh S**T it worked LOL 😂 😅
