សាធារណរដ្ឋខ្មែរ: ទិដ្ឋភាពទីក្រុងបាត់ដំបង ថ្ងៃទី ២៥ កុម្ភៈ ឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៥ មុនខ្មែរក្រហមចូលមកដល់២ខែ។ សម័យនោះបាត់ដំបងមានសោភ័ណ្ឌភាពស្អាតបែបសាមញ្ញ តែជីវិតរស់នៅរបស់ប្រជាជនគឺឡូយឆាយ សុីវិល័យមិនចាញ់អ្នកភ្នំពេញទេ។ ថ្វីបើប្រទេសខ្មែរកើតមានអសន្តិសុខតាំងពីចុងឆ្នាំ ១៩៦៩ តែបាត់ដំបងនៅមានស្ថេរភាព បើប្រៀបនឹងខេត្តដទៃ ឧទាហរណ៍ ក្រុងសៀមរាប មិនអាចទៅលេងអង្គរវត្តបានចាប់ពីចុងឆ្នាំ ១៩៧១។
Khmer Republic: Battambang Town in Battambang Province 25th February 1975, two months before the arrival of the Khmer Rouge. Battambang was one of the finest and safest cities as compared to other provinces in Cambodia during the civil war. For instance, Angkor Wat in Siem Reap was prohibited from entering since late 1971 as a result of Khmer Rouge’s takeover.

probably most? my grandma lived in battambang in the 60s and they escaped to thailand. the closer you were to the thai border the more likely you were to escape the khmer rouge
