J'avais fait mon baptême de l'air avec un de ces avions, en 1970, à l'aéroport de Pochentong, pour un vol d'une demi-heure . En 1973, j'en avais pris un autre pour aller de Phnom-Penh à la frontière avec la Thaïlande . Puis, j'avais traversé ce dernier pays, en train, pour aller au Laos où j'étais resté 9 mois . Finalement, j'avais pris un Boeing pour venir en France où je vis depuis 1973 . J'ai perdu le pays de mon enfance, le pays de mon père, ingénieur des travaux publics du Cambodge .

As beautiful and vibrant as this society was, it is important to recognize that Khmer society in this period was characterized by a massive disparity between urban and rural life (rooted in the consequences of French imperialism) that, in conjunction with the systematic corruption of the Lon Nol regime and the US bombing campaign, would directly facilitate the conditions for the nightmare that followed only a year after. It's rather reductive and falsifying to depict Cambodia as a paradise ruptured by a guerrilla movement emerging from nothingness; antagonisms and contradictions were brewing below the surface for decades that handed this colorful world its death sentence long before 1975. The only way the incomprehensible horrors that characterized the Khmer Rouge can be avoided is by pursuing a society and institutions capable of resolving those contradictions, otherwise, history is effectively bound to repeat itself. Nevertheless, wonderful footage, beautiful country, and eternal condolences to the Khmer nation and the two million who were murdered under the barbaric communist regime. Cambodia in 1970s was a very prosperous & sophisticated country but the American and the Communist North Vietnam together with its proxy turned enemy had brought it to "Year Zero"

Son seul tort c'est de croire aux Etats Unies et de les dépendre à 100% . Comme l'avait dit le prince Sisowath Sirik Matak avant de se livrait aux Khmers Rouges . C'était le début de la fin avec de l'oncle Sam qui nous a utilisé comme un instrument contre les Viet-Minh et les Viet-Cong . Ils nous ont toujours traité comme un peuple du seconde zone aux dépens des vietnamiens du nord , les preuves , l'important des aides militaires n'étaient pas les mêmes par rapport au Vietnam du Sud . Ne refaisons nous pas la même erreur comme les afghans les syriens et les vietnamiens du sud .... Chaque fois c'est toujours pareil , ils se sont barré comme un voleur si la situation est mal parti . Et son peuple est toujours riche en paix ....pour le moment , et nous " leurs fidèles amis " , nous nous plongions dans le KO au bonheur de notre voisin thaïlandais . C'est une leçon pour les khmers qui croient encore aux américains " Un très grand pays model de la démocratie " . Le mot " démocratie " est un mot utopique qui ne dépend qu'à des gens qui l'appliquent , au même titre que le mot " Communisme " pour l''égalité entre les riches et les pauvres et qui sont utilisés par les grandes puissance pour dominer le monde .
