This calcutation shows that battery AH required for driving motor only. With the help of this calculation we can't calculate range. Because if acc. To you top speed you have considered 70kmph and average is 35 kmph. If i choose top speed 100kmph and average 50kmph for the same calculation and values as you showed above. Then 50kmph mileage for 48volt 40 AH battery pack??

One more thing calculation is same and all values is same but i changes top speed 70kmph to 100kmph and now average is 50kmph so what will be range in kilometer???

Slight contradiction I guess at 6:21 secs, on what basis it is concluded that for 35km/hr battery AH will be 40, hve you crosschecked with physical multimeters in Vehicle for the current (ampere )value Eg - you could have taken avg speed as 40km/hr then same 48V 40AH would hve provided 40 km range is it right ??? Correct me if I am wrong.

I agree. The adhoc assumption of 35 kmph does not make sense. Why not 20 kmph instead of 35 kmph?

You can't understand the explanation. The top speed assumed is 70kmph. The vehicle at rest is zero. Hence the average speed of bike is 35kmph. If you drive the bike at average speed of 35kmph, you will reach 35km in 1 hour. Likewise calculation is moving. Likewise if top speed I want to choose is 100kmph. The average speed of bike is 50kmph. Learn some basic science. The video has been worked very hard to explain. It has sense.

Technically ur specification of motor is wrong. Motor specification will be in watts.

Lets make a review of the working sir! If the motor is rated 1500 watt and the batteries efficiency is only 80% why then are we getting an increased value of 1875 watt instead of reduced figure 1500 watt minus 80%??

If we apply the same concept of home charging with 6 amp and use an battery which we use in our home inverters we could establish this? In either scenario taking your math example how much capacity external battery will be required pls?

All that is good. The weight factor should also be calculated in this. Without taking in consideration the weight of the vehicle or bike the calculation is incomplete.

I wanted to start small startup company I am working on research to continue the vehicle operation upto destination without depending on limited mileage. The battery will be charging with minimal charging power on running condition by the generator and rest of the generator power will takeover the motor operation. only constraints is that the generator could not takeover the fully discharged battery and motor

in step 2 you divided 1500 watts on efficiency 0.8. I think it should be multiplied and answer should be 1200.

I want to build electric bike with using unlong LTO (lithium titanate oxcide) cell Its voltage is only 2.3 volt but its lifecycle ia very long How much cell needed to build 48 v battry pack!!

48 V/ 2.8 V = 17cells in series. And for the parallel part depends on how much current you need.

Hi, Your effort to explain the math is good but it is very general / average calculation which can lead to incorrect selection of battery capacity. And if it is Li-ion then you can imagine the cost. You have not considered torque of vehicle which is directly related to current. At different speeds there will be different torque requirement. At different torque there will be different current consumption by the motor. Also, many of the times during the journey the throttling of the vehicle may vary many times or zero at times even when the vehicle is in movement. Calculation of that duration is not considered. different vehicles will have different weight and loading patterns which you have not considered. The actual way is to have analytical data of city and highway ride of the specific vehicle where current consumption is noted as a pattern and then the battery is designed as per the pattern for a given weight, motor wattage and loading. Do you have such calculation ????????

This is basic calculation. We should not stop with it. We can create simulink models with different driving cycles which will result in maximum torque requirements, battery capacity, motor power requirements.

How can you know that avg speed is 35kmph..?

We know the top speed of ebike...(in this case 70 kmph). The low speed is 0 kmph So average will be 35kmph If top speed is 80kmph, then average speed is 40 kmph

350 watt motor ==> 35km speed ==> 48V 40AH LI battery, then how many km range it will give ?

Do the calculation same as given in video. Substitute your requirements. You will get mileage.

If the battery capacity is 100AH, 48V And motor capacity is 1.5Kw Gross vehicle weight 700kgs Top speed 30km, Avg speed 25km Then its mileage is?

Everything is fine but how did u take 35 kmph as average speed.......and the ampere magnitude you found at first ....won't it be specified in the motor? These are the doubts anyone who knows pls reply

Here top speed = 70 kmphr is a constraint for design. Average speed is half between zero and top..simple Mathematics.

Ola s1 has 8.5kwatt motor and battery 2.9kwh. then 2900/8500=0.35 hour backup 🙄
