BATTERY CAGE SYSTEM OR DEEP LITTER SYSTEM, WHICH IS BETTER?

I have not been able to decisively decide the kind of system I should use but you made me to , do you use the same water system for medication ?

if I am giving dewormer or any other medication, I use the same water system because it is not time bound however if I am giving a vaccine I use drinkers because after two hours the vaccines would not work anymore so finding a way for all the birds to drink quickly is paramount.

What is your egg production rate in cage system? In deep litter 87-90% is realistic. Is it higher in cage system?

Yes it is but it is also bases on the type of breed of bird as well. But all things being equal for every 70 birds I make 60 eggs per day. Someday a little less sometimes a little more but averagely 60 eggs per day for 70 birds.

I would love to try a deep litter someday but for now I have a small space so a battery is the best option for now.

Deep litter is more humane and healthier for the consuming public. This is more important than any other reason

The truth is even deep litter is not humane if we have to be Frank. What qualifies as humane is leaving birds in their natural environment. Like domestic birds.

In Ghana, do not personally sell but if you are in Ghana, you can try tonaton or jiji.
