Battery Grips for Sony a6400: Vello BG-S4-2 vs Meike MK-A6300 Pro

I couldn't find videos regarding the Vello BG-S4-2, only about the MK-A6300 Pro; therefore, I bought both of them to find out which one is better or has a better use case for my needs/uses.
This is an overview of the battery grips from Vello and Meike for the Sony a6400.
Video was recorded with the Sony a5000.

I saw on internet that you can charge the batteries inside de meike battery grip, you just have to connect the camera as if you would normally charge the battery and set the button to on and they will charge

How did you get the camera to overheat in around 40 mins? From what I've heard, the a6400 almost never overheats even in summer. I've only tested the a6600 before but not the a6400. Does 4k24 prevent the overheating? I only shoot 24p ever, so I'm wondering if 30p is the cause for overheating.

That’s a good question. I almost never shoot in 24p, so it could be that its the 30p option that’s causing it to overheat faster or in general. The tests were in California with moderately hot temperatures averaging about 85F, simulating an event I had earlier in the year. Also, I didn’t have any pictures profiles or anything like that other than the basic movie mode option.

@@JuryRigTech Set the camera to not shut off until extreme heat and you'll probably not overheat. I did that with mine and I have never overheated as long as I've had the camera (granted I don't film professionally but still)

If you charge it while using it then you can do it directly with the camera and an USB.. you don't need that battery grip if you don't mind to have a cable attached to the camera all the time..

Ridiculous, i've seen a lot reviews of that grip, a lot was explained about it, but nearly all reviewer forgot to actual use it. I mean, try look through the viewfinder when you grip the camera at portrait. If you try you'll see that this grip totally useless. Unfortunatelly the Alpha6's viewfinder is at wrong place for that.

I have it and I did it.. it's simply works fine.. the viewfinder it's in a good place too.. I don't see where the problem is.. 🤷‍♂️
