I went through their Windsor FAQ and brochure. Rs 3.5/km is mandatory for 1500kms. So even if you drive only for 750kms per month, you need to pay for 1500kms per month. So for a person who drives 750-800kms per month, rental charge would be 1500*3.5= Rs5250 + 18% GST. Rental will come to Rs.6195 including GST Real world drive range of this car would be 250-270Kms/charge. So for 750-800kms per month, we have to charge the car 3-4 times a month on average. Battery capacity is 38Kwh. 38*3=114 Kwh per month. Lets assume electricity unit cost is Rs10 on average in Chennai. 114*10=Rs. 1140. So total monthly cost for a person who drives 750-800 kms would be Rs.6195(Rental)+Rs.1140(Charging cost)=Rs.7335 roughly. Same 750-800kms per month in a petrol vehicle would cost Rs.7000-7500 roughly (depends on the car mileage. mileage for calc is 10-11/km) I find no big differences here.

Thanks for doing the homework for us. Most cars that we consumers use give a better mileage too(I understand that you've put a very conservative mileage) So owning a ICE vehicle is still going to be convenient and cost effective. My thumb rule is, companies always get their money and keep their profit margins, so it's better to not be carried away by their marketing.

For this kind of big car 330 claim range is very less, even Tiago claimed this range, atleast they need to claim range like tata nexon my opinion. Or MG hav any plan to launch bigger battery car later in this? Next they told 1st 1yr free charging in MG charger station and not sure if it applicable for all 3rd party charger station too free or not. So if only in MG charger station free then city like Chennai hav 2 or 3 station thr that too far away. So based on this offer is totally useless. Only if they promise free charging in all stations then it may useful to consider.

Bro what are you saying, I pay upfront around 3.5 INR per km, and I am told the charging is free. How is that?. Actually charging is not free. With the highest cost in market (20 INR per kwH), i I charge the car and consume around 40kwh to fully charge, I pay 800 INR. Using this I can run minimum 300 KM which equates to 2.5 INR per km. But they charge 3.5 INR per km which is higher than the existing cost. Actually they should not use the word FREE. Another way of cheating consumers.

Brother,I understand your perspective.But the thing is Battery is provided as a service here,where you don't need to worry on its life since it comes with a lifetime warranty,Rs3.5 is for charging and for the battery lifetime maintanence. If they charge you for the battery,the car price will be around 14 - 15 Lakhs so they had came up with this plan
