I saw a guy using legs off 1/4W resistors instead of fuse wire. Not sure how well calibrated they were as fuses but I guess they would blow after a while. 😊

Using component leg cutoffs isn't a bad way to use them up. However I think the failure current could be a bit unpredictable for this application. I have had a couple of my fuse wires blow within a few seconds of soldering them up. This is due to some of my cells being at slightly different voltages, which is annoying, but also validates the use of such of fuse wire too.

@@johnnodge4327 what is the fuse wire rated for? I guess you don't plan to use it for high current jobs so low current should be OK. If I'm putting lots of cells together in parallel I normally try to charge them equally. A few times I used nickel strip held on with magnets to equalise half a dozen or more cells before putting a battery pack together.
