I did my first battery powered ceremony yesterday and it was so awesome. Setup in one trip in about five minutes and it sounded great. I'm running the Bose S1, Sennheiser Wireless Lav, Jackery Explorer 240 power station. Officiant could be heard clearly 100 feet away at 12 o'clock on channel one on the S1.

You can completely eliminate any of the wireless problems you're having by having a directional paddle antenna. Then you can go back to wireless without any fear whatsoever. I used two of them with my ceremony setup along with two of the Sennheiser omnidirectional lavalier microphones.

Great set up! On the Maui 5 Go, can you plug in 2 mics instead of just one? Assuming you arent using a mixer or an extra controller and you plug in everything into the speaker itself. I noticed that the Maui has one XLR input for microphone. Can you use the 1/4 for a second mic, eve though it says it can be used for guitar
@AaronStrawn3 жыл бұрын
I think you could connect a mic with an XLR adapter, but I wouldn't do that. If you need to hook up more than one, I would suggest a small mixer like the Yamaha one I got
@davedenboer94223 жыл бұрын
Aaron, I really appreciate the nice job you have done with the video. I belong to a non profit group that does outdoor ceremonies. 25% of the event will be music, 75% speakers (officiants). We are looking at portability so this video helped a lot. I had narrowed my choices to Bose S1 and JBL EON One, till I saw the MAUI5GO. My question is will one of the first two do the job for outside venues that will be under 75 people? Mostly worried about the speaker (officiant) being heard. Or if having to go to the MAUI5GO, greater expense plus the Yamaha mixer for added push of the mic which also means the battery pack for the mixer...... more $$$.
@AaronStrawn3 жыл бұрын
Ok- so my opinion is that if you run an XLR mic for the person speaking, the Bose and Maui are about the same volume. If you are having more than 100 people, you will def need either a wireless mic or the mixer to get more volume, but for 75, either should work great. I lean more towards the S1, I'm not terribly impressed with the Maui. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching Dave!

Hey Aaron--loving the videos! Question about the Denon Prime GO setup. I'm thinking to buy 2 S1 Pros and connecting them to a Prime GO with XLR cables. In your experience, is there any lag when spinning from the GO? Thanks!

@@AaronStrawn got the Prime GO and the 2 S1 Pros. Wow, they sound incredible. My buddy brought over his Maui 5 Go, and that sounds amazing as well--better low-end for sure. I just like the portability of the S1 more. XLRs to the S1's worked fine. And I also ordered some guitar transmitter receivers to connect the Prime GO to the S1 Pros wirelessly, and that also works perfectly! No lag. I bought 2 pairs of these: Getaria Wireless Guitar Transmitter Receiver Set 5.8GH.

How big of a ceremony do you recommend the Maui 5Go?
@AaronStrawn3 жыл бұрын
1 should be fine for 200. The music is plenty loud, you'll just want to make sure you get good coverage with the mic. So adding an extra mixer or using the Prime Go should be a good enough push if the group is that big.
