While this *does* work, there are a number of caveats: [1] You do not need to detach the screen completely. Just prop it open at 90 with a small pry tool. [2] Be *very* careful when removing the screen - start opening a small pry with a razor blade if needed. Yes it leaves a tiny scratch but better that than a cracked front glass. The video makes screen removal look simple - IT IS NOT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Remember to pull steadily on the suction cup while GENTLY inserting your pry tool. Don't try for one fell swoop as shown - move along the bottom edge and make several little pry moves instead. Then move to each side and make several more small pries. [3] iPhone 5 batteries are either outright glued down or are attached with strong double-sided sticky tape. Most of this tape in on the inside long edge. Again, not shown or discussed. Use a somewhat larger PLASTIC pry tool here only - if you use a screwdriver or other metal pry, you risk puncturing the lithium ion battery and it will leak and smoke heavily or start a spontaneous fire. USE EXTREME CAUTION when prying the battery out. Small moves. Take your time. Again shown as this easy 0.5 second move. Not true. [4] Work in a well-lit area that uses a light background - a white cloth or mat is best. The screws are TINY and if you lose them, you create more problems than you solve. Take your time, be careful, and you can do it. Good luck!

Great video content! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you considered - Lammywalness Trendy Trade Guide (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning how to recondition batteries at home minus the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my close friend Aubrey got great results with it.

it's NOT necessary at all. This is a dumb tutorial. It's literally useless to remove the screen. It's only more work and you have more chance that you'll break something.
