This was an excellent tutorial, the best of them out there! Well done. Shame all these companies though don't make it easy to simply pop the battery out and swap, it could obviously be done but they want you to spend another fortune a new toothbrush purely for the battery

The cheapest models have easy battery replacement

honestly we need to petition Braun to make these more easily repairable. Its a colossal waste as most people can't be bothered doing this much to just replace a freakin battery and just throw them away😡

Excellent instructions - thank you! Turns out my battery works, but water had entered the toothbrush and caused some corrosion on the electronics. After cleaning with IPA, it works like new :) Thank you!

Thanks, I used this video to fix my 3765 that stopped charging, a wire came lose and it was just a 2 minute soldering job. The instructions to get the base off at 0:55 did not work for me, but after soaking the brush again in (boiling) hot water a second time I was able to pull it off with my fingers. Thanks again!

Just finishing taking my brush apart and cleaned it and now works fine, did not even need to do any welding. At first it seemed the battery was sluggish/defective, but it appears the cleaning did the trick. So once taken apart try cleaning it before doing any welding...

This sounds way too complicated and the sauntering tools would cost more than replacing the toothbrush. Will enjoy until I need to replace. Will do more research next time. But I really like it until I hit that wall.
@TillTheLightTakesUs4 жыл бұрын
@@imock5288 I think I hit that wall. The damn thing's light will turn on but the brush part where you change the brush modes won't. So the brush doesn't work. I don't think I got the balls to pull this off even if I had the appropriate hardware. Dunno wtf to do. Today I tried turning it on, it worked, but when I turned it off and on it went back to its problem.

You might have a friend, relative or colleague with a soldering iron who can lend it to you or help you with the repair.
@wolfgangwelzel41252 жыл бұрын
The repair went smoothly, but the terminal lug of the battery supplied had to be modified. At this point I used an AWG20 wire extension to connect the battery to the PCB.

do these still be water resistant enough to rinse after brushing when you have done the repair

to be honest, i could do this, but there is no way i would ever want to. not for a hundred dollar toothbrush. that would take hours of time and simply ridiculous. Ive removed my AMD gpu and resistor to bypass the SMC startup for my MBP, which was a living nightmare that required jumpers and that's for a multiple thousand dollar piece of equipment. This is damn near the same thing minus the software for a hundred bucks. Great tutorial though.

People will sometimes spend time to save money, and sometimes they will spend money to save time. The thresholds are different depending on the context and the person. This can be a 30 minute job if you have all the tools ready.

I agree, this repair is also too time consuming for me

Same, excellent tutorial but after i popped the top & bottom out & watched the rest of all the soldering i said, yes while i technically cooooould do this due the great tutorial , eff that i said & threw it all away disassembled. i dont have the patience for this, not today. Its been a crappy day & my toothbrush dying was icing on the cake, ill just buy a new one @@stormfox81.
