I really like the adaptive cruise control and how it adapts to the head up display in my id7. Interior is really nice place to be, sits very comfortable, I have the ergo active seats but not the ones with ventilation. Software has some missing features indeed. Navigation I started using waze because here in Belgium the vw navigation seems not to be very up to date with the latest changes and new roads. Own it for 3 weeks now and no regrets.

I talked to a guy from Cariad (I’m a software engineer) and was very surprised to hear that the software now being put onto the cars (MIB4) is already end-of-life, the Cariad team is working on Android Automative for MIB5 (which is already on the new PPE Q6 e-tron and Porsches in a different UI) and thus porting the current MIB4 interface to Android, which will be made available in Q3 25 (after the summer work holiday). This does mean however that current ID.7, 4 etc. and the new Tiguan’s, Golfs etc. sold TODAY won’t get further software updates beyond necessary security fixes. I was completely shocked, they are being sold right now!

👏👏👏 Chris - good video as always. 100% agree - the "privacy" button that needs to be accepted every-signle time is just bad design. Volkswagen - we need to re-authenticate every couple weeks with VWNet - why that consent is not there instead? It feels like the "ignition" button press that was eliminated got replaced by the privacy button. Ugh... I'm really interested how the OTA experience will work for ID.Software 4.0 and beyond... On a side note - I drove two Model Y drivers in ID.4 - they loved the experience - you have CarPlay - we don't, seat massage - you are kidding - can you retrofit that into model Y?; oh and what's this cool light bar below your windshield that shows turns - we don't have that either!

Dealers don’t want another $50000+ paperweight German made EV sedan that they can’t sell. Here in the US the VW dealers pushed hard against it because it doesn’t qualify for the $7500 EV tax credit due to its German manufacture. You can’t blame dealers as they want product they can sell and move fast (SUVs). Also let’s face it, the ID.7 has been an utter failure in China and hardly selling in Europe. VW electrification strategy has been one failure after another. So much so that last month they announced reinvestments into development of internal combustion engines and plug in hybrids. EVs are not selling and the industry is backpedaling from their ambitiously unrealistic EV product expansion timelines and proclaiming the world end of the internal combustion engine.😂

Stopped exactly 4 minutes to change driver once, did not had to tank. So why do they say battery capacity is x… if it only has 80% or 80%-20%… So your range should be announced as 60% from the “maximum” capacity. In know with my car with 42 liters I can drive 780km… with a margin of 40km’s (Kia Ceed). I do not tank 60%. I do not drive that much, bit more than 30000 km’s/ year ( private ).
