Man something about this theme just fits so well. It's a final boss theme, but it doesn't feel like there's some massive threat looming above you. Just another enemy to take out. Also 0:27 is the best part of the theme.

I love the dedication to musical expression these folks had, just playing with what my parents at my age thought were wah wah and zzzzzap noise machines. A bit of an exaggeration, but a similar sentiment was there among a large segment of the population in the 80s and 90s. These 90s jrpg musicians were bold though, and they made some really inspired tunes for all the classics. Especially the megaten team(s).

Megaten games in general are already niche with the SNES games being even more niche due to most of them never getting an official Western port. This version is actually in the famicom version, obviously not remastered, but to actually listen to it you need to beat the game with one of the initial three partners, (Yumi, Shinji, Reiko) then on a second playthrough you can talk to a new character, called Akira, who takes you on a sort of new game+ dungeon of sorts, which is harder and completely different compared to the others
