World needs more modern looking turn based RPG!! i don't know why companies started to focus action RPG's only, nothing wrong with those but cmon have some variation. Need more games like this or Lost Odyssey/Last Remnant, turn based games can feel and look good nowadays.

Critical Mass you might enjoy Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel I & II it's a turn based rpg

This game really needs more spotlight. It looks gorgeous and some of the deepest combat ive seen in an rpg. Yes had some issues but very satisfying

I really love the game so far, especially since i'm a huge fan of Joe Madureira's artstyle. Sadly i've never read the Battle Chasers comics back in the days (something i really need to fix) so i mainly know of his awesome work from the Darksiders games. When i found out about Nightwar i was really hyped to learn that it was his "own" franchise turned into a cool turn based RPG. Also nice and fair review, hope we'll see more of those in the future every now and then.

i actually bought the game for ps4 off the back of your video the other week about Battle Chasers. About 10 hours in and loving every minute of it! Only crashed twice on me too, fingers crossed that's all.

The process of crafting legendary weapons is so cryptic in this game. There's technically no farming for it. The pieces are scattered in some very obscure side missions that are quite easy to miss.

And you just got a sub my man. What a nice well thought out well put together none biased review. I myself have been interested in this game since i herd about it in development for a few years now. I love Joe's art style and am a huge fan of the Darksiders series that he worked on so this is a must buy for me. I'm glad it's not needed to read the comic to understand the story. But i hope i can find the comics so i can read. Look forward to future reviews keep up the good work it's so hard to get noticed on KZbin these days lol been doing it for years and sub list won't go up lol.

If they were to make battle chasers like lost ark online in there comic book style this game would really take off and don’t get me wrong i love the turned base aspect of it too it reminds me of breath of fire series.

So how does the story work in this game? Is it a standalone story or is it a sequel to the comics? I'm interested in this game, but I have never heard of this universe... I'm affraid I won't understand the story at all if I jump in blind without reading the comics..

but at the same time its very accessible without having to google the comics plot. everything is explained and hinted at. The Inn features some small good story moments too that flesh everyone/thing out. As does the lore system which is rewarding in-game too via items per lore completion.

So how is the story and soundtrack overall, since both didn't catch my attention at the early into the game and feel like i should refund it. This is coming from a person that has played most of the tales of, final fantasy games

the music is actually quite varied and interesting, some of the boss music really gets you pumped, but it's not on the same grandoise level as Uematsu. It's all very fitting for the game and I personally think enhances the experience.

I think this game would've been better off as a 3d action gamehaving a fixed camera angle like The first 3 God of War games
