Not even a massive banger box, and it was still a great box! Totally agree, these are aging well. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Ancient Dragons get reprinted. Because we know they will. 😅

They will eventually get reprinted. Death, taxes, and WoTC reprints. But the set still has a strong land cycle and some commander cards that are aging very nicely.

Let’s go!!! Best of luck! A personal favorite of mine is figuring out how to haste the Silver dragon and hit someone with it to get 1-20 cards drawn and no max hand size. Even more so than connecting with a copper, it feels like hitting someone with the Silver just wins you the game. Best of luck on your opening if/when you pick up a box!

@ thank you!! I will have to search a box out, the store I traded cards to had a stock miscount unfortunately so I got a set box of lotr instead… but, I pulled the one ring on the first pack!! So it all worked out in the end!! Also got a foil Sauron to build a new deck around! Also, you can run rennari (merchant?) who gives dragons and artifacts flash!

Great box! It's hard to get perfect box in this set , so this is really good one! And what kind of box it would be if you don't pull Firbolg Flutist? 😀

Agree. I don’t care for the Lost Caverns reprint art. As you mentioned, I think this version is much more fitting.

Are these crowd lands in set boosters? I can get a box of those for less than $100

They are but I do not recommend the Set boosters for this set. Only 18 packs and the collation is awful. I’ve gone multiple Set boxes in a row without opening a land. Bang for buck, I recommend Draft over Set boxes for this set.

Thank you! I’m wholly unfamiliar with this set (new to MTG) but I love opening boosters. I’ll have to give drafts a try. Are there typically more rares in those vs set?

If anything Set boosters usually have as many or more rares as Draft packs which is why Set boxes typically cost a little more. But the Baldur’s Gate set specifically has some really bad pack sorting issues with the Set boosters. Draft boxes should be about the same price as Set boxes for Baldur’s Gate and I have found the collation to be significantly more even.

just opened one of these after waiting for 3 weeks due to delivery diffuculties and Holidays. It was the worst Collector box i have ever opened. Not a single one of the good Lands. 2 Ugly Art gold Dragons. Karlach as the most expensive pull. Cards over 10 bucks: Displacer ,Karlach ,the gold Dragons and that one Mill Dude with chose a backround. i get real jealous seing a box be sub optimal and still completely destroying my box :D

Oof… I’m sorry to hear that. I never relish in someone having a bad box. None of the crowd lands in a collector box is really rare. (Unfortunately not in a good way) I think a normal amount would be at least 2-3. Karlach is definitely a solid pull but it’s tough to get there if the lands whiff.

@@WildcatMTG i got some news :D now imagine this. Me and my gf were sad that our box went so poorly so we grapped another. Fast forward and the new Box gets here. And guess what. its even worse then the first. 1 ancient green in the Brown art. 1 Battlebound land. the Mythic slot full of Elminsters and no card above 9 Euros. So im just laughing in pain right now. this time i bought a coldspan Dragon so i wouldnt be that mad if the box was bad. I never imagined that a 12 Euro singles card that i selected, would be by far the best card i got. Sucks to suck i guess

Majestic genesis is op af in my ur dragon i highly recommand it in all high cmc commander big creature deck

I may have to give it a shot. I feel like for the card to generate enough value your commander has to be at least 6 mana value. But it could be really good…

​@@WildcatMTG that's precisely why it's strong in Ur-Dragon. He's 9 mana and the deck should run a good amount of creatures, being a dragon deck. Revealing 9 cards and putting all permernanents from those into play in MY ur-dragon deck basically means I ramp a bit (you're going to hit some lands obviously) and then about 5 cards will just come into play. Even if you "only" hit 2-3 Dragons, since you're running a bunch of haste enablers (at least you should be, when playing dragons) you will probably take over the game out of nowhere. It's an incredible top-deck if you're out of gas because someone wiped the board twice or messed with you in other ways.
