I can’t take anything away from Beastmodepaul because he played exceptionally. However, ChunkyKong starting with a dance was the pride before the fall. When I saw him dance instead of taking his opponent seriously, I lost faith that he could come out on top. Stay humble, we DK mains are counting on you!

Yep. People always seem to underestimate Hero players, then they get mad when they lose and call Hero broken. I fought a lot of good Hero players (and I play a mean Hero, too) so I know he's no joke in a tournament setting. Honestly though, you shouldn't take anyone lightlybin competition. Even if they seem absolutely new to the competitive scene, you never know what their background actually is. I remember Riddles downplaying Marth and his players hard, and now he lost to both MKLeo and Ignaize's Marth. This is a problem I have with the community as a whole. They take some characters far too lightly and then get destroyed because they don't learn the MU or the character as a whole. Like, if Marth was so bad, how is he all of the sudden doing well against top players? How come more players are picking him up? Even if he didn't win a major, that shouldn't be a sign that "oh don't worry about a Marth player. They will lose to you EZ."

How do you know that wasn't him practicing his turnarounds, an input that he uses a lot, and can be easily messed up?

@@trevthegamedev Because in that situation you 100% should be charging monke punch, creating pressure on the opponent. Also, practicing that on a character with notoriously long range moves isn't that amazing either. Chunky isn't dumb, he just didn't take him seriously.

BMP had a very good timing with his spells. When Chunky went in, he got hit with a hitbox/projectile; when he shielded, BMP buffed himself up.

@@linky-main-maybe269 you can’t honestly put hero/dk on a scale of who’s more carried and think it weighs even bro. Does dk have an insta-snooze? An instant death projectile? A near-instant death move that covers 2/3rds of the stage? He has back-air, down-b and a big funny punch with armor that works 65% of the time. The only skill required for hero is being able to play while thumbing through a list of multiple win conditions lol. Not hating it’s just how I feel. MU’s like 90-10 in Hero’s favor

@@nathanm6372 I do think that Hero wins this MU quite hard, but in general Hero has to player harder if that makes sense. He has to consistently be playing well in the MU, where DK only needs like 1-2 neutral interactions to win a stock. Whack, snooze, and magic burst, while annoying, have very clear counter play. Just shield. Kamikazee can also be spotdodged or airdodged fairly easily. Its also worth noting that DK has to think considerably less when choosing his best options. Whenever Hero is landing near him, down b is consistently a great option. If Hero mashes in a certain place, DK punch is a death sentence. When Hero is behind DK, bair is always a consistently good option. Hero basically has to always think about his options due to his more commital nature. Sure, he can force DK to approach and most of DK's moves are unsafe on shield, but in order to make any real progress he has to space and flip through menu immacculately. BTW Paul reads VERY fast for a Hero player. He recognizes options near instantly, and doing so consistently all the time is a terrible strain on a player. It doesn't sound like it is, but play against characters with burst options out the wazoo and try choosing 1 of 4 randomized spells, some of which are detrimental, in less than 2 seconds the entire match. TL; DR Hero is better and wins the MU but requires significantly more strain on the mental game, where DK loses but he can always rely on certain moves.
