Well, not only that, but the rules said that the Kirbys can be run into to push them closer (like with Little Mac's). So, checking the placements, it would be fair to assume that Phos and Lux can indeed hit all of them if Pit pushes them closer. It's just a matter of if 20.0% is enough to KO P2 Kirby.

It makes sense though. In FF7, when Sephiroth uses Supernova, the attack *_literally can't kill you_* (it _can_ in the original Japanese version, but that's only because in the first version of FF7, Supernova was a guaranteed instant Game Over if it went off, but this was changed in later releases to it applying a bunch of status ailments and doing a majority percentage of a characters _current_ HP), it's treated similarly to the "Gravity"/"Demi" family of spells that do a percentage of the target's current HP, so they can get the target _really_ close to death, but they can't actually kill the target. So Supernova can't actually kill you, but it can set you up for Sephiroth to finish off immediately afterwards.

This definitely would've been more exciting with slightly smaller blast zones, and maybe a removal of the "no bottom blast zone" rule. However, it was interesting to see how final smashes like luigi's, dark pit's, and pac-man's adapted to many kirbs, while many others got pierce-capped and/or range-capped at 3.
