The accordion solo in the middle had me speechless

I'm really glad this song has such a beautiful cover and improvisation part on youtube. Houseki no Kuni soundtrack is surely among the best ost I've listened to the past ten years. Thank you for the hard work, and let's pray together for a second season with the same composer.

How am I just finding this cover out?!! I love this part of the soundtrack (the entire sound track slaps in general) but I’ve never seen someone cover it

I just watched this anime again after so many years; and I want to say that your cover is really faithful to the feeling of the original despite not using the exact same instruments it uses. But then on top of that, you also manage to seamlessly expand on the original with your own new arrangement. It's always a shame how short the songs in OSTs can be, but this works amazingly as an "expanded" version of the original. Thanks a lot for making this ❤

LOVE this arrangement! Such a wide assortment of instruments and timbres that blend so seamlessly with each other! Excellent job!

Loved it. The triangle and stick part makes the track for me. And beautiful breaks ! I strive to arrange this well, I learn a ton with every track you publish.
@JustinThornburgh2 жыл бұрын
Yea the triangle and drum sticks add a lot of energy to the track I think. Glad you liked it!

Oh my god the way this cover dug up my land of the lustrous obsession is incredible. My ribs hurt i did not expect this much emotion from a song i forgot about.

Exactly what I was looking for and much more! I have already listened to the original so many times that it lost its magic, but this is such a breath of fresh air, loved the improvisation too, and kudos to your friend for that superb darbuka playing too.

This sounds so cool! I don't know the anime, but I'm surprised it's not a video game because this is a piece I wouldn't tire of hearing in hundreds of random encounters in a JRPG.

I would love, love, love to see this recording on Spotify, or really anywhere else you can be supported - this is fucking PHENOMENAL ! ? !? !? I cannot appreciate the talent in every instrument enough (though shout out to bewildebeest fucking RIPPING it on the bass) The sheer variety in instrumentation; and your continuation of the composition feels so natural that it's like I'm getting to hear an expanded version of the soundtrack all over again and more LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE every aspect of this, and would love to see more covers like it (EVANGELION'S DECISIVE BATTLE IS CALLING YOUR NAME) - though I gotta binge your channel and am excited to see more

Wowee! All three of you really shine through with your musicianship! I would like to try a ribbon mic some day, I feel like the oft-described mellowness is right up my alley, haha. I think it sounded great! Fantastic work!
@JustinThornburgh2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yea I've always sort of had a lo-fi sort of idea of ribbon mics' sound but I was very pleasantly surprised with how good it sounded. Both the piano and sax had some amount of large diaphragm condenser mixed in as well which definitely adds more high frequency detail missing from the ribbon but I found the smoothness of the ribbon to be really nice. Makes me want to look into getting a ribbon mic now
