The thing i will always hold dear of battletech it's is utterly human outlook. In all other mecha shows, games, settings and so on pilots are 14 years old fighting for friendship, idealistic teens fighting for good, honorable knights or predestinated chosen ones. In battletech, yeah, you still get those things, but mostly it's booze and whores. It's humanity at its finest, and it's bloody marvelous.

Its not been the most successful launch but the game is out there right now. Personally i've been buying old minis online and using PDF's of the FASA days to play with a few friends- but either option works.

This is a very nice song. Just picked up the 2018 battletech game because I found it on sale and my PC could run it, been absolutely addicted to it for the past three days, playing career mode because I've already seen the story a while ago and quite frankly, I don't like how restrictive the campaign modes early missions were. Anyway, started campaign, got incredibly lucky with the shops and managed to get the salvage needed to get missile geared assault mechs in the first three sectors I've gone to (Although I will admit I was skirting bankruptcy every time I picked up a piece or any LRM-20's I found) and I managed to salvage a whole Cataphract from a mission due to sniping the Cockpit with an L-Coil, so now my go to drop loadout is Phoenix Hawk with a single L-coil and nothing else (Breaching shot + weight and venting issues) A Cataphract with Dual PPC's and enough heat vents to maintain constant fire even in badlands, an assault mech with 4 LRM-20++'s and all the ammo known to man, with all four LRM-20++'s having increased stability damage and finally a firestarter with nothing but flamers. Heat damage for medium enemies that aren't worth ammo, L-coil for Light targets because if it hits, it's destroying something PPC's for sniping cockpits of things I want and LRM bombardments precision targeted at the legs for everything else to try and either takeout the legs or just kill the pilot via the concussive force repeatedly falling over.
