Those Giant bugs werent that powerful, the infantry sent against the medium slze bugs should have fared better than we did. I always thought of the videos on the official media as a mean to disincourage the cowardly, all that carnage has to be an exaggeration.

It reminds me of the self-aware main battle tanks called Bolos, from the book series first conceived by Keith Laumer. However, it should be noted that the first models of Bolos were not self-aware.
