I am just glad to have SOME part of this battle walk! I adore Ranger Atkinson and having Stephen Lang as a guest is such a brilliant treat.

It's strange how life works. 2 years ago I started watching the mysterious stuffwritter. Particularly the battle walks with Matt Atkinson. 2 months ago I started listening to Addressing Gettysburg. Common theme is Matt Atkinson. Lol

Usually Matt makes me laugh, today he made me cry (the Captain cradling his only child left in Pickett's Charge)... It was icing on the cake to hear from Stephen Lang! We would all love that 3rd movie to be produced, Last Full Measure... "someday"...

I've walked that 20 times and with a few pretty well known historians but Matt is one of a kind. Only Charlie Fennel could compare. Matt needs to get into the studio for a chat. C'mon Atkinson!!!

I agree completely. He by golly needs tah.

Right in about minute 20:00 you can hear a Hawk in the background! Pretty cool!
@addressinggettysburg3 жыл бұрын
i'm so glad you caught that. There were three circling over head and I pointed the mic towards them for a second in hopes of catching their caw...is it called a caw when it's a hawk? Screech? Their noise.

@@addressinggettysburg not sure but I have heard other people call it a Hawk screech! I do know when I imitate crows I use the “K Kaw K Kaw” sounds LoL!

Will someone ask Matt if Lee's early success was due to the Union's Inability to find competent Military Leadership - attacking Cemetery Ridge because that's where the enemy is seems less than genius or at best a FALSE sense if it
@addressinggettysburg Жыл бұрын
Lee’s opponents had something to do with it. But there are myriad reasons as to why things went the way the did. The bottom line is that the war ended in 1865 with the Union being preserved…for better or worse lol
@mattjones82548 ай бұрын
@@addressinggettysburgindeed they did..... The Union did not have competent Generals in my opinion..... Even in the battles the Union won, they took horrific casualties until the very end of the war. Larger numbers of men and available resources won the war for the Union..... Don't get me wrong, I don't think they were totally incompetent..... But Lee, Longstreet and Jackson were a tough trio to beat.
