Alright, I'll share my story suggestion. ** What if... Cell became a Hitman. (Cell for Hire??) Now, hear me out. This Imperfect Cell is an anomaly. I am talking about 1 Cell out of a million of alternate Cells. He took the time to think and challenge himself to reach his perfect form through an alternate way: getting rich and making connections with the underworld. He started with getting in touch with Tao Pai Pai and learned the ropes of the job with him. Then, Cell quickly outclassed him. He became very high in demand. But how did it come to be? It's simple, in this reality, Imperfect Cell went to Gingertown first and Picollo wasn't around to greet him. He started to absorb its denizens. Among them, there was the richest man. He pleaded for his life as he usually does. But he said something he didn't in all other realities. Something arousing Cell's curiosity: "Mo-Money can buy power and possibility!!" At first Cell snarled, hitting the ground with his needle end of the tail, right next by the rich guy's head. "What stupid wads of paper can possibly accomplish for me, old pop?" The rich guy was terrorized out of his mind. He didn't want to end like the others, who horrifically shrivelled before his eyes as Cell ate them. He knew his next sentence would be the most critical in his entire life. Collecting himself as much as he could, he told Cell: "With it, you can collect resources, get food, hire help, build houses, launch research and development campaigns..." Cell didn't care about all the formers, but the "launch research" part was what sold him. Dr. Gero managed to create a computer giving birth to him, a creature on his way to perfection. But would it ever be possible if there was no money to build the hardware of the secret lab? Most importantly, if being rich buys a way to perfection, does it mean that the more money you have the highest peak you can reach? This strange Cell nodded in approval. He wasn't in a hurry anyway. This one took Goku as a weakling, since in future timeline he wasn't around to fight the cyborgs and the cyborgs themselves are beneath him. So, maybe he can take his time, playing the same monopoly game than the Earth guys? He asked the guy the usual questions: how to make money, who's the richest in the world... Since all Cell knows about is to fight and kill, he naturally chose to be a hitman. He is perfect for the job as he can even make a body disappear like no one after absorption. And if anybody questions his insect-like appearance, he can pretend to be a cosplayer or a party-goer or a horror movie actor. This Earth is populated of many strange looking beings anyway. He used the Gingertown rich man to introduce him to the crime underworld, where he met Tao pai pai. The rich guy didn't realize it, but he saved millions of lives by saying the right things. It just took as bargain the lives of the miserable ones who had contracts on their head. Your custom battle is effectively Cell executing a harder contract, fighting a guy of the SZ's roster.

@@MisterAlpha444 For not being familiar with the tool, I can imagine it's difficult to make the entire backstory fit in. Though, you can maybe dish out the backstory in small bits and make Cell for Hire a story in several parts, through his contracts. This what if has a particularly interesting implication: through his decision to fit with Earth's economic system, Cell is no longer an universal menace, directly threatening to destroy the planet. Mass murdering of townsfolks was what made him a target to the Z-fighters in the first place. Which means Cell is no longer Goku's main concern as he is the Earth's protector, not a cop enforcing laws. Cell just became a neutral evil hitman/martial artist/reasearch funder contending against Capsule Corps.

⁠@@nozotothe issue is that the custom battle creator doesn’t let you input custom dialogue, and it also barely even has a search filter to sort through like 8k different phrases. It’s an awesome idea tho.

I don't get tired of seeing these custom battles! That said apart, the lack of stages alloted to creation is a big setback. It takes away the personality of some stories. On Kaioh's planet, for example, this would be a nice callback to the TV Series for your little story. Or very high in the sky, as seen at the end of the movie. The devs need to do something about it. SZ doesn't even have an arctic stage ffs. If you want more What if suggestions, feel free to reply to my comment. I have a particularly crazy one involving Cell, that you might like.
