There is no glory in fighting for someone who enslaved you. Also indian regiment of mounted lancers was not alone in this battle there were other british colonial expeditionary troops too for example Sherwood rangers. So before you hype over aknowledge that This was not an indian victory but victory of oppressive and persecutive British empire which continued its colonial oppression of India. Not to forget that these british used the Gurkhas to butcher the indians at jalianwala bagh. By the way what about those indian soldiers who fought at gallipoli never saw anyone paying respect to their valour. Their cemetry still lies on beaches of Gallipoli. Even Turks there also admired their bravery and Mustafa Kamal who was commander of gallipoli defenses personally admired his foes and granted them honourable burial too his fallen indian foes at gallipoli.

There is no glory in fighting for someone who enslaved you. Also indian regiment of mounted lancers was not alone in this battle there were other british colonial expeditionary troops too for example Sherwood rangers. So before you hype over it just know that This was not an indian victory but victory of oppressive and persecutive British empire which continued its colonial oppression of India. Not to forget that these british used the Gurkhas to butcher the indians at jalianwala bagh. By the way what about those indian soldiers who fought at gallipoli never saw anyone paying respect to their valour. Their cemetry still lies on beaches of Gallipoli. Even Turks there also admired their bravery and Mustafa Kamal who was commander of gallipoli defenses personally admired his foes and granted them honourable burial to his fallen indian foes at gallipoli.

Gandhi Ji thought he was uniting Hindu-MusIim by supporting Khilafat Movement and Pan-Islamisation thereafter and it was a big mistake of him which emerged in the form of partition of Pakistan.

My grandfather fought in this great war. He was in the Camel forces and was awarded the great Victory Cross. Only a few soldiers were awarded such honor. This medal is still enshrined in my living room. Proud of that great soul.🇮🇳👍
